connoisseur series500 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I still think the Pistons will win the series. Now if Miami wins the next game then... ← if you want some action let me know... ← What you got in mind, SS? Want to bet one of those TOCJs I'm offering? (B. Green, "45 Sessions" Turrentine, "Comin' Your Way" (domestic), D. Byrd, "Off to the Races," and "The Cat Walk?") If so, I'm game for it. In exchange, you can put up the price I'm asking for those cds...reasonably priced, of course... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Pistons should regroup and win next game..... Larry Brown did irreparable damage allowing that information leak about his quitting coaching at this time. AND has the nerve to say he is interested in executive office in CLEVELAND, no less. He is now a lame duck coach... Team has lost confidence, cohesiveness Well, to tell the truth, I could expect no less from Brown. ← Great article from the ever-insightful Marc Stein on ESPN: Marc Stein on Brown Hey, no Larry Brown = no championship last year. Guy ← I don't believe that's true. I think Rasheed Wallace coming to Detroit had more of an impact on the Pistons winning the title than Brown did. Brown is a good coach, but Carlisle is just as good and HUNGRY and focused. If Carlisle had the same team that Brown did last year, he'd have the same ring. Quote
BruceW Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) Thanks Jim, I had never heard of Marc Stein. It is comforting to see that my observations (as less professionally written as I do) were right on with Marc's. Anyway, the predictions are the same and what Brown is doing to Detroit is exactly what I felt was happening to the team. Larry Brown should be feeling a tinge of disgrace and total embarassment by now. The sad part: If the Pistons team goes on to win this series and somehow repeats as champions, Larry Brown will take credit for it and that will stink to high heaven. Jim Alfredson Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Dang. Larry just laid into the reporters. Did you see that? That's the kind of shit he should've done DAYS ago. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Haven't heard from you, ss1. I'm gonna watch the game and my kid will be hogging the internet for the next few hours. I reserve my offer until later this evening. It's still on if the Pistons win. If they lose, well...you had your chance. I didn't hear back from you. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Pistons are taking it to Miami. But oh man... will this game ever end? I think the refs have called a foul on almost every possession in the fourth quarter. Criminey. LET 'EM PLAY!!! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 1, 2005 Author Report Posted June 1, 2005 shit... i'll be honest i was praying tonight would be the last time hearing DETROIT BASKETBALL best 2 out of 3 Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 1, 2005 Author Report Posted June 1, 2005 lb shouldn't talk to any other team until the piston's season is over classless move if he did Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 you wanta do something on flash averaging 20 a game? ← I'm cooked on that one! But Tayshaun is my man, and the Pistons will win the series. I've got all the RVGs already! Not interested in any of my stuff for sale? (You guys got everything...) Quote
BruceW Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Pistons still HAVE to win another game on the road in order to win series 4-2 or 4-3, preferably game 5. LB still playing word game..... man, is he good at it. Quote
SEK Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 So BruceW, how do you really feel about Larry Brown? GO PISTONS!! :bwallace2: :bwallace2: Quote
BruceW Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Actually, he is a good coach. Pistons have chance now. Quote
BruceW Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 (edited) Thanks Jim Now on with the Pistons march to victory. :bwallace2: Edited June 1, 2005 by BruceW Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 jim how you got this series playin' out? 7 games?? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 I stick by my original assessment. Pistons will win tomorrow and finish up at home on Saturday. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 what happens if the heat gets lucky and wins game #5? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 Then the Pistons will win the next two. But I don't think the Heat will win tomorrow. We're betting on who wins the series, right? Not who wins how many games... Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 jim just 1 cd for the entire series' winner Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 2, 2005 Author Report Posted June 2, 2005 the heat MUST win tonight, if they do they would control this series imo WTF... shaq can't even get 20 points is the daddy running on fumes???? 'sheed is good for 1 tech tonight Quote
BruceW Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 the heat MUST win tonight, if they do they would control this series imo WTF... shaq can't even get 20 points is the daddy running on fumes???? 'sheed is good for 1 tech tonight ← Here is My Take: 1. Heat must win or they are finished. 2. Yeah, what's up with that??? 3. Daddy is running on fumes but not his mouth, he is still talkin' 4. Agreed, Sheed's mouth gets him in trouble again.... Bruce Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 The Pistons have figured the Heat out. They will not win another game as long as the Pistons execute their game. LB can out-coach Van Gundy any day of the week. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 3, 2005 Author Report Posted June 3, 2005 (edited) it ain't over yet, the pistons will literally go down fighting will roscoe bring the championship belt and hand it over?? the league wants a banged up duncan vs a banged up shaq in the finals it's gotta be dat way the ultimate ratings would have been lakers v heat finals Edited June 3, 2005 by Soulstation1 Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 3, 2005 Author Report Posted June 3, 2005 (edited) LB will never measure up to SVG AKA RJ Edited June 3, 2005 by Soulstation1 Quote
Guy Berger Posted June 3, 2005 Report Posted June 3, 2005 I wonder, if Shaq was playing at 100% instead of 50-60%, whether we'd even be talking about this thing going to game 6. Anyway, the Pistons caught a really lucky break with Wade's injury -- that might be enough for them to sneak into the finals. I figure this thing is going to 7. Guy Quote
