clifford_thornton
I've always been curious about that record - isn't Warren Smith the drummer? As for Al Shorter, Tes Esat is such a mysterious title and a heavy slab of batshit free music that it outdistances Orgasm by at least, I dunno, eight inches... Kalo
I always kind of liked Funkadelic's The Electric Spanking of War Babies, not to mention Parliament's Funkentelechy versus the Placebo Syndrome. And Nick Lowe's titles Jesus of Cool/Pure Pop for Now People (for the same record, UK and US titles respectively), are BOTH contenders. Also his album entitled Labour of Lust. J Larsen
The Case Of The Three-Sided Dream In Audio Color - Rahsaan Roland Kirk The In Sound From Way Out! - The Beastie Boys Expensive Shit - Fela Kuti Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By - Lovage I'm pretty sure "The In Sound from Way Out" was borrowed from an old Perry & Kingsley record (awful album, as I remember it - a lot of it got used for incidental music on Sesame Street). For no particular reason, I always liked "My Life in a Hole in the Ground" by African Headcharge. I also thought ONoffON was a clever title for Mission of Burma's reunion record. Noj
You're right JLarsen. I actually have the Perry/Kingsley album, which I bought thinking, "hell, if the Beasties named their album after it." It is indeed awful--with the exception of "Cosmic Ballad" which has this strange appeal to me.

Christiern
Thanks, Spontooneous. I think my favorite title is one I saw in the late 1950s or early '60s: Songs for People who have $2.99 This was a period when titles like: Music For People Who Hate MusicMusic For IroningDinner Music for People who Aren't Hungry I rather like the last one, actually

BruceH
I was always partial to The Cramps' "Bad Music for Bad People" as best-titled album. I always liked "Songs the Lord Taught Us" just as much. Edited October 2, 2006 by BruceH
BruceH
Funkadelic had some great ones, no doubt about it. But three of my favorite album titles of the 70's are Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) Another Green World Before and After Science (Yes, Here Come the Warm Jets ain't bad either, but as a title, the other three are even better, to these ears.) Teasing the Korean
"If Only I Could Remember My Name." NOT a funny title for most artists. "If Only I Could Remember My Name." HYSTERICAL title when used by David Crosby. I can't even speak it without laughing by the sixth or seventh syllable.
