Rooster_Ties Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) OK, I've had two different people report back about their BFT#25, disc #1, and clearly the track order that they have is different than the order that I burned for people. I don't yet know if this is an isolated instance of just one part of the tree, of it there is a bigger problem. ( ) I'll try to figure that out shortly (give me a couple minutes) Those of you who already have my BFT, should have the following track order… Track 1 (1:31) – an orchestral track with solo piano that follows. Track 2 (1:55) – a solo piano track Track 3 (6:22) – an orchestral track with solo trumpet over the top Track 4 (7:15) – a funky backbeat sort of thing with guitar and sax Track 5 (3:24) – a more jazz-oriented feature with static harmony (few if any “changes”), and sax as the main soloist Track 6 (3:33) – an electronic jazz thing with trumpet as the main soloist Track 7 (7:22) – sax, piano, bass, drums – a mid-tempo tune Track 8 (6:33) – trumpet, sax, piano, bass, drums, more of a traditional jazz thing – trumpet and sax have equal prominence (but no solos, as such), and with one piano solo Track 9 (1:46) – solo trumpet (muted) Track 10 (0:22)– shortest track on the disc, at only 22 seconds Track 11 (3:19) – mainstream jazz thing with trumpet, sax, piano, bass, drums Track 12 (6:38) – piano trio thing Track 13 (3:33) – trumpet and drums Track 14 (7:02) – sax, trumpet, guitar, piano, bass, drums – pretty straight ahead Track 15 (4:55) – sax, guitar, bass, drums – a ballad Track 16 (12:40) – trumpet, piano, bass, drums – a little out there at times Can you report back immediately to this thread if your BFT#25, disc #1 doesn't match??? Rooster_Ties Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) OK, maybe the problem is limited to just this leg of the distribution... -- catesta (AZ) - can help distribute 1. Man with the Golden Arm (MA) 2. Big Al (TX) 3. JSngry (TX) The two people who appear to have scrambled tracks are Big Al and Jsngry. (Note: It looks like Golden Arm Man is gonna have problems too.) Could this be the problem??? Just got a package from Phoenix Beach. Once I get the sand, bottle caps, and pubic hairs out of it, I'll be good to go. Oh yeah, to whom do I need to return the tongue stud? If anybody else has any track order problems, let me know (with a post to this thread), ASAP. Thanks!!!! Rooster_Ties Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) By the way, the sequencing of my BFT (at least disc #1, especially), is probably critical to the enjoyment of it, over all. Jim (Sangry), and Big (Al) -- somehow I need to set you two up with new burns, cuz some of what you did or didn't like -- may sound quite a bit different to you with the proper sequencing, trust me. I'm absolutely swamped this week -- can anybody else set Jim and Al up with new burns of at least the two BFT discs (with the proper sequence)??? And before you do, can you confirm that what you have as source discs matches the above track sequencing??? I sure hope this is an isolated instance, with just this leg of the tree. Catesta - did I somehow send you discs with the wrong sequence?? (Can you check the originals I sent you??) Or was there some SNAFU with the process you used to burn them?? (I'd be more worried if I somehow sent you discs with the wrong order.) Ironically, Jim and Al are reporting back things that imply that each of them has a different track order -- different from one another. Edited May 10, 2005 by Rooster_Ties Quote

Christesta said he was going to scramble the tracks and toss in a few melons from his own collection of the Lawn Boy's Choir operetta of El Camino Burana but I did not take him seriously! If that pack of discs ever arrives I will guess in no particular order as well. Quote

I didn't mail your set yet. still shuffling, eh? shuffly-sha-luvly Truth be known, I sent Vint a compliation of all previous BFTs, a "best of" series if you will. I'm looking forward to seeing of he guesses his own track(s) correctly. B-) Quote
catesta Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I hope he doesn't read that post of mine, it will mess everything up for sure. Quote
Jim Dye Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I can mail out new burns to Jim and Al. Just let me know! Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) Man I am just listening to Yusef Noteefs "Koko's Tune" and looking at that avatar of Elvin is amazing! He's right on the money!!! and I'm guessing without hearing that if it is on Rooster's test it is track #08. Edited May 10, 2005 by Man with the Golden Arm Quote
JSngry Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Looks like all that happened is that somehow tracks 1 & 4 got switched on my disc. I'll edit my guess post accordingly, and no need to reburn. Don't think it will alter my opinion of anything one way or the other. But thanks anyway! Quote
JSngry Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I'll edit my guess post accordingly It have done been did. Quote
Big Al Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 No need to send me a burn of disc one! I've figured out that only the first five tracks' playing order has been switched somehow; everything else looks fine. I can always re-program my CD player to play the songs in the correct order! Thanks for the offer, though! Quote
JSngry Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Seriously, I have a recurrent but not consistent problem with my disc locking up WMP after Track Two. This happend last night at work, and it's happened here at home as well. Must be the Phoenix Beach pubic hairs. Quote

brownie Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Have yet to hear this CD but I already have an headache Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Mine arrived and yes track #4 is to be #1 and track #5 is to be in #4's place so that means #1 is now after the 7:15 song. So... that means the opening track is the monkeys flying thru the twisting Kansas air after they dump a historic house on Rooster and his socks roll up when he hears the beautiful piano coming up from the vicked vitch of the vanguard and then all the munchkins do a freedom jazz boogaloo and take blue pictures of dorothy sleeping with the poppies while all the while the tin man festoons a harmon mute throughout. Those are my guesses thus far. Quote

Grrrr! Quote

catesta Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) WTF? Was it the burn method? I'm going to check mine when I get home this afternoon, I'll report back what I find, so stay tuned. In the meantime, enjoy the mystery BFT tracks. Edited May 10, 2005 by catesta Quote
