I hope the thing doesn't show up with a pacifier attached to it. I'll forward it to Johnny. B-) Dear ..... Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow. A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing. Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy. We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Monday, April 25th. I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'. We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!! The confirmation e-mail was cute the first time (and I really don't like cute...), and has become increasingly cloying with each repetition. ghost of miles Posted April 25, 2005 Report Share Posted April 25, 2005 I tried to order the Teo Macero BEST OF comp from them a couple weeks ago and ran into some snag with checkout... had to go and haven't been back to order again, so I haven't gotten the cute message. I imagine it would wear thin pretty fast, though. Still, has to be better than my recent experience with "luxmusic" on Amazon Marketplace. Ordered an Ellington Treasury show from them in early March--never showed up. By that time their seller profile was inundated with such reports, along with a VERY few (bogus, I'm sure) claiming that the product arrived "carefully wrapped in beautiful yellow silk paper." Huh?! AM is going to refund my money, but what a scam... "Luxmusic"'s automated replies to my inquiries weren't nearly as creative as what Weizen posted, but just as removed from reality. Nothin' against CDBaby, though. I know Jim & co. are very happy with them, and I've heard other artists say good things about them as well. I'll be ordering that Teo Macero soon or Soon... I would STRONGLY urge you to, as budget permits, delve deeper into the Teo Macero catalog. Frustratingly amaturish in terms of packaging, annotation, and duplication of cuts between some albums, but there's some meat in there, baby, some REAL meat.
