It appears to be three or four men, all standing up.  One seems to be behind an upright bass.  One perhaps is behind a snare drum. 

This would all be consistent with photos of The Four Freshmen.

The liner notes, such as they are, appear to be like the fluff found on the backs of '50s Capitol albums, rather than serious wordy discussions of the music.  The Freshman recorded for Capitol at that time.

Thanks GA.  I haven't seen the things you've seen, but everybody seems to see different things in that artwork.  If you'd care to elaborate and describe where you're seeing what you're seeing, here's a link to the thread about that:
