baryshnikov Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Can anyone please give me some more information on Emarcy pressing of Buddy Rich's lp The Driver. what year it came out and if the promo, was issued or not? Its one of my favorites and still takes me back to 1982, when i first heard it. I still get that buzz, you know the one i mean when he blows those drums apart. This lp is not even mentioned on his discography, although a copy was pressed on the Phillips label, thanks i know someone out there will know something, paul in the uk. Quote

JohnS Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 (edited) This is a septet date from April 1960. According to Lord it was cheduled fpr release on Mercury but was released on Emarcy. Also issued on Wing and Philips. I'd guess it came out sfortly after recording. Chuck's too quick off the mark for me. Edited April 22, 2005 by JohnS Quote
sidewinder Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Nice session. I have the 1970s UK Philips budget release (1974/5 ish). 'Big Leg Mary' is the standout track for me. Quote
