Japanese mini-LP reissues for Polydor

Does anyone know if this series which has a catalogue prefix of UCCM is 24 bit? I am salivating over the reissue of John McLaughlin's "Extrapolation".

They usually are. There are hardly any recent Japanese Universal series that are not 24-bit.

The McLaughlin is 24-bit remastered. Check this Amazon Japan page out - scroll down and you'll see the English description.

I'm pretty sure Hiroshi Tanno will be able to get it; no guarantees, though.

nice description.....Sony Japan issue????

Usually the obi states the remastering resolution but with this series (and some others) they didn't. It's stated that it is newly remastered by the Japanese but not the bit rate. My guess it's 24 Bit, 96 kHz but don't know for sure.

The Amazon description clearly states "24-bit remastered".

When you scroll down on the page I linked to it says:

"Album Details

Japanese only pressing, 24-bit remastered reissue of the jazz/fusion guitarist's 1969 album. Sony 2005."

I agree, the Sony quote is weird.

Edit: The Amazon description doesn't guarantee anything, of course. They've been wrong before, but I wouldn't be surprised if this reissue is indeed 24-bit remastered.

According to CD Japan this particular reissue is already out of print. HMV Japan doesn't even list it anymore.

What's interesting is that I was holding a copy of this in my hands and nowwhere on the cover or the obi strip does it say anything like 24 bit like it does on many of the japanese issue cds.

I know what Amazon says but they are sometimes wrong.

According to CD Japan it is OOP, though it was released in February 2005. Sometimes things move very fast in Japan...

Hey guys I've been researching this Extrapolation issue. Since 2005 has it been confirmed that this a 24 bit remastering? What I've learned is that not all Polydor reissues in Japan are remastered.
