Brownian Motion Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 I live in rural central Pennsylvania, and I don't watch television, and I rarely listen to much on the radio besides NPR news programs. Can someone explain to me wtf this is? http://tinyurl.com/4pm2q Quote
JSngry Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Remixes, sorta hip-hop made from jazz. Sorta. I've heard the "Manteca" thing - it makes for a good dance track and an interesting listen once or twice, but I'd not see fit to go beyond that with it myself. Quote
Noj Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 I bought the Verve "Unmixed" versions of the first two compilations, so I could have clean versions of a few tracks whose albums I haven't seen available. Quote

I assume the artist's estate has to sign-off on something that departs so dramatically from the artist's original intent. Or maybe not--who knows what the original contract specified. Still, this makes me feel uneasy. It's a little like painting a mustache and goatee on the Mona Lisa, but dada it ain't. Quote
