Theo Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 (edited) Ok all you forum nuts: here's how it is. Went over to B3'ers tonight, in the middle of severe thunderstorms to hear Randissimo's dad, Arno, do his sax thing. This dude is 77 years old, worked with literally everybody who was anybody over the last 50 years, and is, without a doubt, the coolest cat ever! He is accompanying the band on their Northern Michigan tour starting tomorrow. Like you all don't know it, this is a family forum: everybody on this site is family, from guys like me who post once in a while to guys and gals like you who post daily. This is a friendly and loving group of people who come together to appreciate jazz and jazz aficionados. B3'er, Joe, Randy, use3d, and I, think all of you are the best on the planet and hope you will continue to post your thoughts so we may continue to benefit from your personal experience and wisdom. So, to Swedes (which I am) Dutch, Germans, Britons, French, Italians, and all the rest, God bless and keep it up. This is a great jazz forum: the best there is. Oh, and just wait until you hear the new album. The band has matured over the last two years, getting so close that they are almost telepathically connected. It is a terrific set of tunes and you will all love it. To those of you who believe in the guys so much that you have pre-ordered, given liberally, and been free with your love and support, it means more than you can know to my son and his fellow players. Thank you all. Now, get ready: This Is The Place is coming soon. Theo Edited July 5, 2005 by Theo Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 The notes are written...probably not as well as some of the stuff around here, but they are now being proof read for clarity, readability and such...we'll see what you think Jim, and everyone in the world who loves this band.... will have them to you soon....short and almost fast.... GregN Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Well, I've heard the finished product, and it is, simply put, awesome and beautiful. It is always hard telling whether musical moments will pay one a visit while recording, but I have to say they were here in spades. It is hard to pick a favorite, at this point, but I will say that it is soooo good, that we will likely be at odds as to which ones are the most loved. For me, I am leaning toward the one that starts with the letter "T". At any rate, I have uttered industry hyperbole with the best of them, but I sincerely feel this CD will do great, and more importantly it will touch souls. g Quote
Stefan Wood Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Yes, but what about the grease? I don't want my soul to be touched, I want it deep fried! Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted July 11, 2005 Author Report Posted July 11, 2005 it's over on kazaa ← You're joking, right? I dropped off the master and artwork to the printer this morning. Estimated street date is August 8th. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) is the signed poster and cd deal for $30 still good? ss1 Edited July 12, 2005 by Soulstation1 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 12, 2005 Author Report Posted July 12, 2005 Yes! Every offer is still open, you just won't get your name on the CD for $100 because the CD is already at the printer! (But you can still donate $100 (or more) if you want!) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 12, 2005 Author Report Posted July 12, 2005 Just so everyone knows: The new record will be released August 8th on Big "O" Records!!! I will begin mailing CDs the week prior, so those who pre-ordered may receive theirs a little early. Quote
scottb Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 SWEET! How about a little sample clip to whet our appetite? A musical hors d'oeurve, if you will. (I'm going to keep begging until I hear a SAMPLE!) Quote
Jazz Kat Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Just so everyone knows: The new record will be released August 8th on Big "O" Records!!! Man, I thought you got signed for a sec. Why you gotta do that Jim? BTW, I just sent out the money o Wed. morning, about the Boogalo Sisters CD. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 15, 2005 Author Report Posted July 15, 2005 Big "O" will be happenin' this year, with the new organissimo release, the upcoming Root Doctor release (the r&b/soul band I play in) and possibly a live organissimo with Arno Marsh release! Quote
