Or maybe an adaption of the Uncle Meat for Organ Trio with an extended percussion section including a tabla, triangle and more cowbell. Quote

Is there another organ trio that's done it? I hope not! can't think of one either. But peaches does seem to be one of the favourites when doing a Zappa tune. Great tune of course, though I am more partial to the Little Umbrellas and the Camels from the same album. If you guys promise to play the shit out of the Peaches, I'm in for it all! Harrr!!! Quote

James Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 Hey Jim ---- my check should have arrived by now. Why don't you surprise Joe with a nice CD that he's been wanting but hasn't picked up yet? In all seriousness, Joe --- best thoughts & wishes with your current situation. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 13, 2005 Author Report Posted April 13, 2005 Just some more photos from the sessions. These are from Tuesday afternoon, taken by my friend Greg Polsdorfer. Joe doing his thang on the Hofner. Randy practicing for his solo on "Brother Ray". Yes, Randy really plays with sunglasses on. Make it black and white, and you may have a Blue Note-esque cover! Quote
Big Wheel Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 I'm going to guess that the Zappa tune is Zoot Allures (only because I've heard a previous organ rendition of it with Dr. Lonnie Smith). Quote
