If you get king size enjoyment out of listening to them and there was no way you could have copped the music elsewhere, then it was worth a king size price if not a king's ransom. I don't have those sets but I'll wager that I do have most of the music on LP (most likely) and CD (less so). Good enough for me. Most importantly, enjoy them. Quote

You're lucky, I decided not to bid on the Classic Capitol Jazz Sessions set at the last minute - it might have cost you a bit more if I had... Quote
Brad Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I think it's probably a hit on both. I don't have either but would love to have the Capitol sometime. Quote
jbb Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 At the risk of making you feel bad, I saw that a copy of the Benny Goodman recently in supposedly mint condition went unsold a few weeks ago even though it had a starting bid of $75 with no reserve. It may not have gotten much of a look because it wasn't listed as a mosaic even though it was. I didn't pick it up because I'm not sure it's my cup of tea, but for that price how could you go wrong? Since I've probably made you feel a little worse about your purchase (sorry), you can make me feel bad by telling me that it's a great set and a bargain at the price you paid. BTW, I think I may have picked up another item offered by the same seller--the Complete Blue Note Andrew Hill Recordings on CD for $236--no bargain but I've been watching the price on these for a while. Few have gone for much cheaper and sometimes it sells for much, much more. I figured that paying just over double the original price for a highly-sought after Mosaic wasn't that bad considering where prices have been generally on Ebay. Enjoy your Mosaics. Quote
wolff Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 I just snagged the Buck Clayton Jam Sessions 8 LP set for $128 on ePay. A good deal to even out the times I paid too much. Quote
