I heard an advance of this documentary special last night. Excellent. Has interviews w/ Michael Cuscuna, Lewis Porter, Ravi Coltrane & T.S. Monk amongst others.

Does anyone know if this will have copy protection? The Japanese version just released (on 9/20) has it.

A little birdie told me that copy protection on U.S Blue Notes is still a ways off, but seems to be coming down the pike eventually. They are working out the kinks (!).

So I think the Monk/Trane is safe.

I don't know if I'm going to get this yet - I have so many Monk CDs
