jazzbo Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) Really should add a little refried beans for the real experience. AND to get that corn-bean protein going if you're using corn tortillas. Now I'm hungry. Edited May 7, 2009 by jazzbo Quote
Soulstation1 Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 I am not a fan of corn tortillas But made some killer breakfast tacos the other morning added some refried beans to the above Also Watched some of The Spirit on DVD Quote
jazzbo Posted July 7, 2009 Author Report Posted July 7, 2009 Love corn tortillas. Never paid attention to them until about ten years ago had some real homemade ones in a delicious home. Wow. Made me order them every time with a meal now, instead of wheat or whole wheat. Plus the corn and the beans make a great vegetable protein, one reason why masa is all over Central and South America as a STAPLE. Loved Eva Mendes in The Spirit. Quote

Free For All Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 RR making sin city breakfast tacos Nice. Those look great- it really is worth the trouble to make fresh tortillas. Great production on the video, too. I like the background music. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 Damn I know what's for breakfast tomorrow. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to make homemade tortillas Including 30 minutes for them sitting You should have everything you need in the cupboard except the lard My last batch I used all lard and no butter and they rolled out real easy The first few batches you make might not turn out good There is a trick to making them and thats making them a few times Edited August 13, 2009 by Soulstation1 Quote
jazzbo Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 I'll leave making the tortillas to the professionals. I have a great taco place just four minutes on foot from my house. Off to get a few tacos right now. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 13, 2009 Author Report Posted August 13, 2009 Ummm they were good, egg and bean and a potato and bacon. Quote
jazzbo Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 This movie looks fantastic on Blu-Ray! Quote

xybert Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Interested. I've been flipping through my old Sin City trade paperbacks a lot recently. Miller has crafted some truly iconic comics, love em or hate em. There was a brief interview with Miller posted over on Ain't it Cool News. Was shocked to see the accompanying photo. Miller looks in really bad shape considering he is only 57. From what i understand 9/11 had a massive impact on his psyche. Also only just found out that he was married to Lynn Varley, however they split around 2005. Miller cops a lot of flak these days but i really hope he beats whatever is eating him, whether it's physical/mental/emotional or all of the above. Quote
GA Russell Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 I noticed that this morning's USA Today was quite unenthusiastic about this new one. Quote
Shawn Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Sin City 2 is flopping, badly. It will be lucky to crack $7 million at the box office this weekend, which is less than half what was predicted. With a $60 million budget it's looking exceedingly grim. The first film brought in $30 million on opening weekend in 2005. The lesson learned? Don't wait 9 years to do a sequel.... Quote
xybert Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 Bummer. Yeah the timing isn't the greatest for a number of reasons. I'm still keen to see it at some point but even for me it'll be a rental, don't feel a great urge to go out and see it at the movies. Quote
