Ron S
Both Nabors sets are among my all-time favorite Mosaics, along with the Lawrence Welk and the Kenny G and Jimi Hendrix Selects (with thanks to AfricaBrass and BFrank for turning me on to these wonderful sets) Edited April 1, 2005 by Ron S

Randy Twizzle
If AMG is to believed, Jim Nabors once played Trumpet on a 1961 Lil Hardin Armstrong record produced by Chris Albertson. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&t...9l98b5b4tsqs~T4

AfricaBrass
Nabors is a fantastic musician who's severely underrated. I wish I could spread the gospel of him to jazz lovers everywhere. One of my favorite periods was in the early seventies when he replaced Joe Zawinul in the Cannonball/Nat Adderley group. I hear he was playing stuff so BAD that Miles made an offer for him to join his group. To Nabor's credit, he stayed loyal and kept burning up the keys with Cannonball. I was lucky enough to find a photo from this period:

JSngry
Is it true that Cuscuna didn't include the Nabors/Mormon Tabernacle Choir session in the set because he doesn't like large vocal groups?

I've heard they were smokin'!

Brad
I bought out all the Nabors Mosaics. Figured I'd do a little hoarding. I'll sell you one but first I have to offer it to Allen Lowe for around $2,000.
JSngry
Anybody remember the eprisode of Gomer Pyle, USMC where Sgt. Carter needed a female singer for the officer's club and Gomer called in a favor and got Dinah Washington for the gig?
