alankin Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Decided to give Fringe a try. I wasn't thrilled with the first two episodes, but I just watched and I was more drawn in -- it seemed to be more coherent. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 The series finale of "Last Resort." I liked this show, and at least the ended it and didn't leave much dangling. Quote
TedR Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 Justified season 4. Still great. What a contrast with that new FOX show, The Following. Just awful. Watched this show right up until another "follower", training to be a serial killer, killed a bunch of dogs. Turned it off and will never watch again. Disgusting show irresponsibly trying to be shocking. Hope it's off the air soon. Quote
Shawn Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 The Following is very grim (it got much worse after the dog scene btw), but I will at least watch a couple more episodes to see how it progresses. When the show is based around a serial killer it's kind of hard to make it light and fluffy and feel accurate. Right now I'm watching Continuum on Syfy. Quote
kinuta Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) Rather you than me mate, keep us posted on the latest grim nastiness. Be sure to check out Channel 4 ' Utopia', although the ' we have ways of making you talk' scene surpasses anything in The Following or Zero Dark Thirty. Watching a few episodes from Season 1 of Law & Order. Edited January 30, 2013 by kinuta Quote
jazzbo Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Watching "Lie to Me" Season 2 and episodes of "Millionaire Matchmaker," which is a hoot. Quote
Matthew Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Home Movies. Season One. For some reason, I find this series one of the funnest that I've seen -- don't know why either. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 "The Americans" on FX. More violent than I expected. Not bad. Also a free preview of the Oliver Stone show on Showtime. Interesting! Quote
kinuta Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 30 Rock - started rewatching season 1. Quote
jazzbo Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 "Suits." An okay show with two of the most beautiful women on television, Gina Torres and Meghan Markle. Quote
Shawn Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 Homeland - Season One I'm a big fan of Damian Lewis, he does not disappoint in this show. Quote
jazzbo Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 Yes, Homeland is very interesting, I'm looking forward to the arrival of the second season on disc. Quote
JohnJ Posted February 4, 2013 Report Posted February 4, 2013 Homeland - Season One I'm a big fan of Damian Lewis, he does not disappoint in this show. Found season one of 'Homeland' compelling viewing, very powerful. Agree about Damian Lewis, just saw him in the recent film 'The Sweeney' and it was strange to hear him talking in a London accent! Did you watch him as Soames Forsyte in The Forsyte Saga remake? The original with Eric Porter is probably the definitive take but Damian Lewis did a workmanlike job. I also liked his fruit noshing detective in the short lived 'Life'. Quote
Shawn Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Life was the first time I really noticed him, loved the series and wish it had remained on the air longer. Quote
kinuta Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Life was the first time I really noticed him, loved the series and wish it had remained on the air longer. Right, corporate suits cancel so many interesting programmmes, don't even mention Rubicon and Terriers. Quote
jlhoots Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 We've watched the first few episodes of the new season of Enlightened. Haven't seen previous season(?s). Quirky. Not entirely sure what to make of it yet. Quote
JohnJ Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Life was the first time I really noticed him, loved the series and wish it had remained on the air longer. Same here, first time I saw him was in 'Life'. Never saw him in 'The Forsyte Saga'. I too liked 'Life' a lot and was quite smitten with Sarah Shahi as his sidekick. Happy to see she will be appearing in 'Person of Interest'. Anyone else love that show? Quote

Seems 'Life' was cancelled as the ravishing Ms Shahi was pregnant and the replacement woman couldn't hack it, for want of a better expression. Edited February 5, 2013 by kinuta Quote
jazzbo Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Lewis is excellent in "Band of Brothers" as well. I like Person of Interest, didn't know Shahi was going to be on that show, that's good news. Watched Castle and The Americans last night. Today will watch Continuum and The Following to see how the third episodes are. Quote
