jazzbo Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Yes, I can't wait for tonight's The Good Wife. Quote
kinuta Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Re-watching the Fringe season finale. Sure didn't expect this! What to say, it seemed almost like a series finale but also opened up a huge number of questions. Fringe is amazing, for me it completely eclipses the over rated Lost. Some other goodies I've been enjoying from the BBC, who have been on a roll lately. Exile Journalist returns home and starts to piece together a dark story involving his Alzheimer stricken dad. Very well done three part drama with a good story that had plenty of juicy twists. The Crimson Petal & The White Nobody does Victoriana like the BBC and I think they have outdone themselves with this brilliant four part drama. Gillian Anderson shows that her fine performance in Bleak House was not a one off fluke. The Shadow Line Only the first part so far but it was excellent, dark, creepy and tantalizing. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Well, in my opinion Lost at its best eclipses Fringe, but Lost was not always at its best. Fringe has begun to incorporate elements of Alias, to good effect. The Good Wife was a really solid episode. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) The Shadow Line Only the first part so far but it was excellent, dark, creepy and tantalizing. Looks interesting. Chiwetel Ejiofor is an interesting actor. Edited May 11, 2011 by jazzbo Quote
JohnJ Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 Well, in my opinion Lost at its best eclipses Fringe, but Lost was not always at its best. Fringe has begun to incorporate elements of Alias, to good effect. The Good Wife was a really solid episode. I agree with Kinuta on this, I much prefer Fringe to Lost. Currently watching the first season of 'Third Watch' having found a very cheap used DVD. Good stuff. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 Interesting. I don't feel the same way about Fringe, I don't get emotionally involved in the same way. And I loved the ambiguity and complexity and nonsense. Watched the Secrets of the Dead episode about the Minoan civilization. Very interesting. Quote
kinuta Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Mentalist The Shadow Line episode 2 Vera episode 2 Quote
kinuta Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Bones Shit, why did they do that to Vincent, he was such an interesting witty character. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Started series 1 of 'Spiral'. Laure seems much happier than she gets by series 3. I've decided never to go to Paris again. It seems even more violent than Oxford. Quote
BruceH Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Looks interesting. Chiwetel Ejiofor is an interesting actor. I like him too, though I have no idea how to pronounce his name. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Watching Paul Simon on SNL, performing "So Beautiful, So What." It ain't necessarily so Paul! If this is a hit, Miles' estate will probably sue. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 The Good Wife finale was quite good. What a tangle! She moves away from her husband. . . and now her firm wishes to become involved in his political career. Quote
jlhoots Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Watched Treme & The Killing episodes from Sun. on our DVR. Both were excellent. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Haven't caught the Treme bug yet but it's only a matter of time. Watching "Surface" a mediocre science fiction show from 2005 that only made it through one season. It stars Lake Bell who is easy to watch. Quote
kinuta Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 The Shadow Line Episode three Great stuff. Love the Pinteresque dialogue and villians and the super sharp photography is very impressive. Quote
Shawn Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 getting ready to start on Netflix: This looks quite intriguing. I'll watch about anything with Martin Freeman in it, he's a fantastic character actor. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 I love that movie! Watched the Office finale. Interesting. Quote
kinuta Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Homicide-Life On The Street Season 5 Very impressive level of story telling makes compulsive viewing. Michelle Forbes enters the proceeding as the new medical examiner with style and confidence. A lot of these episodes could easily be fleshed out to a film length thriller. :tup Quote
jazzbo Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Started watching Treme, Season 1, on loan from a friend. Interesting. Seems a bit too "something" to be real, but entertaining. Quote
Shawn Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 watched the "Bones" season finale, still enjoying the series very much and looking forward to next season! Today, I plan on watching the second telefilm in the "SHERLOCK" series, the first one was a great fun. Quote
BruceH Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 getting ready to start on Netflix: This looks quite intriguing. I'll watch about anything with Martin Freeman in it, he's a fantastic character actor. No shit. ( ) Quote
kinuta Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace Part 1 BBC Three cheers for the Beeb and Adam Curtis. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 One of the best tv shows that hardly ever was. Well filmed, really good cast, a bit ahead of it's time. The DVD set looks and sounds great. I couldn't stop watching it. Quote
