Van Basten II Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Mad Men episode 6, don't know what she looks like in real life but have they found a way to make Christina Hendricks appetizing. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 The episode with Teri GArr. . . "Assignment Earth." I've said it before, but I jsut can't believe how amazing these Star Trek Blu-Rays look and sound. Incredible! Mad Men episode 6, don't know what she looks like in real life but have they found a way to make Christina Hendricks appetizing. Apparently she looks pretty good in real life too if she's your type. (Not really MY type. But I think she's a decent actress, I like her in Mad Men and really liked her in Starfly. Quote
Van Basten II Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Finally saw pictures of her and if you don't mind me saying so she can put her slippers below my bed anytime she wants. My point was that the hairdo and the wardrobe she has for this series fits her quite well and is enhancing her beauty and sexyness. Quote
BruceH Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 The episode with Teri GArr. . . "Assignment Earth." That must be one of the first things she ever did. Also used to be one of my favorite episodes growing up. That was the pilot for a possible spinoff series that was never picked up. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 The League of Gentlemen, Series 1. Sort of what you'd get if David Lynch had been born British and hung out with Terry Jones... Quote
sidewinder Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Last night - The Canadian TV documentary on Lenny Breau put together by Lenny's daughter. Great film, great player. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Watched this dvd again as SyFy was premiering it as the pilot of the new series last night. (I wanted to be out while it was broadcasting, so watched it earlier). I think the series has promise. Started watching Damages Season Two as Season Three is beginning Monday. I didn't have cable when this season was new so I'm getting caught up. Season One, which I watched on Blu-Ray, was INTENSE. Rose Byrne needs to eat! Quote
sidewinder Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Horace Silver and Lee Morgan from the 'Soul' broadcast, 1972. Followed by Maynard Ferguson/Woody Herman/Teddy Wilson/Peter Appleyard, Canadian TV broadcast 1983. Quote

Free For All Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Bullitt in blu-ray. The chase scene will always rock. Also love Lalo's score. Especially the almost Batman-like music (cue diminished chords) leading up to the car chase, and then how the music cuts out for the chase scene, just the throaty sound of the engines. Awesome. Quote
Shawn Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Rose Byrne needs to eat! I volunteer to nurse her back to health. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) Started watching Damages Season Two as Season Three is beginning Monday. I didn't have cable when this season was new so I'm getting caught up. Season One, which I watched on Blu-Ray, was INTENSE. Rose Byrne needs to eat! I just finished watching this season. Compelling story-telling! Like "Mad Men," thiss is a show that has very few characters that I relate or care for. There are a few though, who are victims of the powerful forces at work. David and Katie Conner I can relate and care for. Gives me an anchor I don't have in Mad Men. And. . . the writing and the method of delivery. Wow. I just could not STOP watching each of the two seasons. Their method of showing bits and pieces of the denouemant right up front and episode by episode is disconcerting at first but it's done very skillfully. Season Three starts tomorrow night. I'll be watching. Edited January 24, 2010 by jazzbo Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Excellent German film about the way that the Stasi took lives apart in East Germany. Quote

Jazzmoose Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I started watching season one of Have Gun, Will Travel. Never seen it; heck I missed the first season being born. Judging by the first few episodes, it's better than the TV westerns I do remember, though. Quote
jazzbo Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Watched the first episode of "Damages," Season Three. Going to be a good season. Martin Short AND Lily Tomlin in serious roles as new characters. Quote

Finally checking it out on DVD a few years ago I was surprised at how good it was. Quote
Van Basten II Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Watching original footage of Rocky Marciano versus Archie Moore Quote
kinuta Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) Perry Mason first series eps 1 & 2. Aged well, the stories are tight and interesting. Makes a lot of modern glossy tv stuff look like junk ( Damages excepted ! ) Edited January 30, 2010 by kinuta Quote
