"Giri/Haji" (BBC/Netflix 2019)

Congruently pictured Yakuza crime story .... taking place in London it makes sense conversations beetween japanese movie characters are in original language with subtitles ....

We Were the Lucky Ones, based on a novel about a Jewish Polish family during the Holocaust. It’s ok, not great; a little too clean and some things aren’t credible but, hey, it’s tv.

Series 6 - 8 .... the best crime series i`ve seen in quite some time .... all storylines are properly explained and the movie characters remain credible until the very end .... a Yakuza thriller of high merit for sure ....

Just got to 'The Bear'.

Wasn't sure how it would stack up against all the hype and plaudits.

A couple of episodes in and I can that it might

I really enjoyed the first season--if you like the show so far I think you'll enjoy the rest of that season.

I haven't gotten to Season 2 yet. . . still hoping for a time when Lucinda will decide to watch it with me.

Season 1 was OK if maybe a bit unbelievable. I mean, really, who knew so many people could be such massive assholes in one tiny restaurant?

My wife & I did not like Season 2 very much, particularly the Christmas episode, which was over the top in nutty behaviors.
