The Giants pre /post game show announcer come close in awfulness, which is a shame as they use to have great teams in their hey-day. Both are examples of baseball trying to be hip and youth orientated, which never works. You're not going to get younger by throwing a bunch of stats at people and expecting to attract anyone. MLB leadership flat-out hate the game. Sorry, turned into an Old-Geezer-Get-Off-My-Lawn-Rant! Quote

The real annoyance was the addition of a statistic for each pitch as to predicted percentage that the batter would strike out, reach base, get a hit, etc. It was a case of too much data, which was pretty worthless on a pitch by pitch basis. Next time I'll listen to Braves radio network annnouncers and turn off the Apple TV+ talking heads. Quote

Read an interesting article recently about how MLB is touting smartphone prop bet apps: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2022-08-26/draftkings-sportsbook-at-wrigley-field-aims-to-hook-mlb-fans Quote

Kevin Bresnahan Posted September 12, 2022 Report Posted September 12, 2022 Being the trekkie that I am, I am really enjoying the animated series "Star Trek: Lower Decks" on Paramount+. The premise, if not obvious from the show title, is of life aboard a Federation starship for those who work in the lower decks. Considering how the shows have all concentrated on the members of the bridge staff, this humorous look at the rest of the crew's daily lives on a starship is pretty fun. The immediate and most obvious joke is that most of them wear red shirts. During one episode, the ship is in dire trouble and while the captain and bridge crew fight to save the ship from oblivion, two of the crew from the lower decks are having a heart to heart as the windows in the background have scenes of a major battle with phazers flashing and stuff blowing up. I was laughing more at that scene than I should have. Quote
