jazzbo Posted February 24, 2022 Report Posted February 24, 2022 (edited) 1883, got caught up over the weekend. My wife, who usually doesn't like violent shows, really likes this one. I think it's because she's eerily like one of the characters. Edited February 24, 2022 by jazzbo Quote

Shrdlu Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 I'm still going through the (original) Perry Masons (1957-1965). I'm up to Season 8 (of 9) now. These have held up well. The regular actors are all excellent and there are many familiar faces amongst the guest stars. Babara Hale, as Mason's secretary, Della Street, is lovely. The scripts are formulaic at times, but real life is formulaic, and court procedure follows standard procedure. A lot of jazz (e.g. Red Garland) is formulaic, but that is not a fault. Quote

HutchFan Posted March 7, 2022 Report Posted March 7, 2022 (edited) Earlier today, my wife and I re-watched Casablanca. It was the first time that we'd ever seen it on a BIG SCREEN in a movie theater. The big screen made a perfect movie even more perfect. The legendary line is "Here's looking at you, kid." But the lines that kill me come just before: "Who are you really? And what were you before? What did you do and what did you think?" Not much on paper, but Bogie makes them unforgettable. Edited March 7, 2022 by HutchFan Quote
