jazzbo Posted March 23, 2020 Report Posted March 23, 2020 WestWorld Season 3, episode 2. Followed by MSNBC Quote
duaneiac Posted March 28, 2020 Report Posted March 28, 2020 A Twilight Zone Season 3 binge on Netflix, including such episodes as "To Serve Man", "It's a Good Day" (sure Billy Mumy can still scare the bejeezus out of you, but how good was Chloris Leachman here), "The Little People" (directed by William Claxton), "I Sing The Body Electic" (co-directed by Wm. Claxton), "Four O'Clock", "A Piano In The House" (weak), "Kick The Can" (one of the best episodes of the series, perhaps) and "Deaths-Head Revisited". Quote
Dmitry Posted March 30, 2020 Report Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) ZEROZEROZERO miniseries on Prime. Nice, well-madeĀ international drug smuggling thriller. USA-Western Africa-Calabria-Mexico. Recommend it.Ā No "beautiful people".Ā CinematographyĀ is very good.Ā It impressed m so much, that I'm now watching GOMORRAH on Netflix. I'm onĀ the Episode 2, so it's way to early to tell how the show turns for me, but so far it's feeling like like the Italian version of the Sopranos, with a lot more grit and bang. Brad Posted March 30, 2020 Report Posted March 30, 2020 Currently watching a series on the Silk Road on Amazon, by a French journalist, called The Silk Road. I watched Gomorrah a few years ago when it was on Sundance. Very compelling.Ā Quote
Tom in RI Posted March 30, 2020 Report Posted March 30, 2020 Currently watching season 2 of The Good Fight, thanks to the free month of CBS All Access. I guess Iāll also be taken no advantage of the free month of Showtime also. Quote
HutchFan Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Watched this on TCM last night: Holy mackerel!Ā I hadn't seen this in 30 years, and I'd forgotten how POWERFUL itĀ is!!!Ā It whacked me upside the head. Awe-inspiringĀ performances by Toshiro Mifune and Takashi Shimura. I also DVR'ed Rashomon.Ā May watch thatĀ tonight.Ā Quote
sidewinder Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Enjoyed watching this film last night. Quote

Dmitry Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 Just finished watching the SUNSET BOULEVARD. I am ashamed to admit, this is the first time I've seen the film, and it is remarkable, easily one of the top films I've ever watched. Everything about it is just about perfect; the only thing missing was even a little bit of jazz music.. Leading women were so much more interesting then than today... Ā Quote
ghost of miles Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 That's such a great film, Dmitry!Ā I need to watch it again. There's a new documentary about NYC bookstores that my girlfriend and I were hoping to catch on the arthouse circuit sometime later this year.Ā That won't be happening now, but Coolidge Corner's virtual screening roomĀ will be offering streaming rentals for it starting this Friday, so I think we'll be choosing that option for our weekend movie date: Ā Quote
Matthew Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 Friends Season 1 & Brooklyn 99 Ā Ā Ā I've been watching these two series. Really enjoying Brooklyn Nine-Nine, both are nice stress busters (nice to be back after a Lenten internet break). Quote
Brad Posted April 20, 2020 Report Posted April 20, 2020 I came across this short film tonight about a survivor of the Holocaust. Itās quite moving. Ā Quote
