It only says something like "characters created by Dave Gibbons" which is very odd. I wonder if Moore wanted his name removed. Yes, as usual. Quote

kinuta Posted November 17, 2019 Report Posted November 17, 2019 Seven Worlds One Planet BBC Time to trawl the Thesaurus for new superlative adjectives. Gobsmacking photography. The South America programme was especially amazing. On 03/11/2019 at 8:30 AM, Brad said: My favorite movie of all time. I'd certainly put it in the top ten best films ever. Quote

medjuck Posted December 5, 2019 Report Posted December 5, 2019 On Episode 6 of Watchmen there is a sequence that takes place in a club in an alternate history/universe 1938. On the wall there is a poster with a picture of a saxophone player and the name "Lester LeJeune". This may be the most subtle visual jazz joke I've ever seen. BTW the episode has a couple of nice Ink Spot cuts on the soundtrack. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 5, 2019 Report Posted December 5, 2019 I hadn't noticed the Lester poster, will look for it when I rewatch that episode! Quote
JSngry Posted December 5, 2019 Report Posted December 5, 2019 Martin Kane, Private Eye A really fun early TV detective show sponsored by United States Tobacco Company. The in-program "commercials" are perhaps the most unique of any television series I've ever seen. Quote
catesta Posted December 6, 2019 Report Posted December 6, 2019 Revisiting early "Sunny" episodes. One of the greatest shows of all time and still going. "The Gang Hits the Road". Quote
kinuta Posted December 14, 2019 Report Posted December 14, 2019 The Haunting Of Hill House- Mike Flanagan (2018) I was half expecting something along the lines of the cheesy American Horror Story but I overcame my deep scepticism and plunged in. What a surprise, up to now it's a serious, deep psychological portrait of a family traumatised by unexplained events at a house they bought from the Hilll family. Upended my preconceived ideas and is proving a rich viewing experience. Quote

duaneiac Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) One of my favorite Christmas traditions. I looked forward to this performance every year. It's cool to watch how the production grew over the years. The 1998 version (at around the 30 minute mark) had Cissy Houston, Phoebe Snow and Roberta Flack as backup singers!
