kinuta Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 Wormwood- Errol Morris (2017) Â Slow going in parts but builds steadily to ,what seems in retrospect, it's inevitable conclusion. For full effect, watch with The Man Nobody Knew. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1931549/ Quote
kinuta Posted December 23, 2017 Report Posted December 23, 2017 I've been on a mini Star Trek Enterprise trip. Season three is very interesting, mainly dealing with the so called Temporal Cold War . I also watched a few episodes from season two which set up the storyline. I like sf series that use long story arcs, and, although it may be clunky at times, this one is very engaging, dabbling with time travel and alternate past and future scenarios. It's also a good bit darker than most Star Trek fare. Â Quote
kinuta Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Catching up on two series I never finished. Season two Quote
JohnS Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 The new season of the French cop drama Spiral has just started on BBC4.. Terrific opening episodes. Quote
kinuta Posted January 11, 2018 Report Posted January 11, 2018 Major Crimes series finale. Fairly well tied up. Sad to see this lot go, they were one of the most likeable ensemble casts (except Rusty). House Of Saud BBCÂ Â Ep1 The Chi ! & 2Â Â Can't get into it as yet. McMafia BBCÂ Â Dreadful ! Â Quote

The Closer morphed into Major Cimes with a very skillful sleight of hand. I'm sure a lot of people thought the ousting of Brenda by big bad Sharon was the death knell of the show. Quote

It seems that the evil Sharon was gradually morphed into the likable character we've come to know. Especially feeling for her in the final episodes. I agree about Rusty - can do without him and his angst-ridden boyfriend. Quote

It's a mystery why such an annoying brat was kept on as a regular cast member. Edited January 13, 2018 by kinuta Quote

The mention of David Starkey prompted me to also watch his Channel 4 programme 'Edward & Mary ; The Unknown Tudors '', which acts as a great lead in to the Lady Jane Grey story.  Quote

A gem of a series, already has quite a cult following over here. Series 3 recently aired on BBC, quite brilliant. Sadly, Mckenzie Crook has already confirmed it will be the last but at least it ends on a high. Quote
kinuta Posted January 31, 2018 Report Posted January 31, 2018 Last episode. A bit overlong but a good western with film like production. I've enjoyed it. Quote
