jazzbo
Finished Magic City Season 2 (alright) and the final season of Damages (WHOA!)
jlhoots
Breaking Bad - final season You mean season 5A? BTW, what did you think of the 4th season finale? The final 8 episodes - says The Final Season on my DVD box. Season 4 finale completed the transformation of Walter / Heisenberg. jlhoots
BTW, already (obviously) watched the first 8 episodes of season 5 before starting the final 8 episodes. Came in 2 separate DVD boxes.

Shawn
Really enjoyed season 1 but so far season 2 is feeling like a pale imitation. The show made the same mistake as The Gilmore Girls in the later seasons, it stopped focusing primarily on the main characters (the father and daughter) and instead spends way too much screen time with the zany peripheral characters and their antics. Hopefully the upcoming season 3 (Jan. 15th) will be an improvement, the cast is good they just need better material to work with.
BruceH
Just finished "The Legend of Korra" season 2. My kids told me it was a good show, but not as good as "Avatar: The Last Airbender" so I wasn't expecting a lot, but I actually found the new series really interesting. Can't wait for season 3. BruceH
First six or so episodes of the much-maligned fourth season of Community. Not as bad as I was expecting.
jazzbo
Finished DaVinci's Demons. Sure had an abrupt season end! Not sure what to start next. Perhaps the final season of Fringe. . . haven't rewatched any of those episodes since broadcast.
Shawn
First six or so episodes of the much-maligned fourth season of Community. Not as bad as I was expecting. There are a few really good episodes, especially the "Sophie B. Hawkins Dance" and the rest are entertaining enough. I like the cast so much and admire how well they held everything together despite the insane behind the scenes drama.
A Lark Ascending
Wasn't too taken by the pilot last year. But I stored up this series on the digibox when it was broadcast many months ago and have been watching over Christmas. The plots are contrived, the characters stock and Morse a bit too gauche but I've enjoyed them. Always like the views of Oxford; and there's always an unfamiliar opera aria to make your ears peak up. The TV series, not the book. For the 50s/60s social commentary, of course.

jazzbo
Watched the Blu-ray of Season Five (the final one, darn it) of Fringe. That San Diego Comic Con panel (bonus feature) is awesome.
A Lark Ascending
The start of the second series of 'The Bridge' as Scandi-Saturdays return. Gripping stuff, looking, as always, as if the action is taken place in a gloomy, ECM-sleeve landscape. sidewinder
Why the h*ll we always have depressing Scandinavian dramas this time of the year beats me. What we need in this weather is some corrupt cop drama set on the beach in Rio in the middle of Carnival season... Didn't know Paul Morley did Scandi detective acting.. A Lark Ascending
I'm sure the remake in sunny California is already being planned. Anyway depressing Scandi-dramas are considerably more cheerful than Victorian serial killer costume dramas. And if you want cheerful, there's no end of X-Factor programmes overwhelming with 'you can reach for the stars' optimism. To say nothing about the DC + GO pre-election 'everything is rosy' briefs we'll be getting regularly from now on. jazzbo
Watched Boardwalk Empire first season on Blu. Was interesting. I had a hard time with it at first as I really didn't like any of the characters. Nicely done production though. Will continue on to Season 2. Shawn
I've been watching Scrubs on Netflix, a funny time-waster while I ponder what dramatic series I want to watch next. I also blasted through the entire series of Chuck in about 2 weeks.
JSngry
Watched Boardwalk Empire first season on Blu. Was interesting. I had a hard time with it at first as I really didn't like any of the characters. And you won't like them as the series progresses...the exception being Richard Harrow. Even Chalky White, who I dig (as in "don't feel any warmth towards, but still have a sense of understanding and respect for" b/c he reminds me so much of some modern-day people I've known) even his once rock-solid principles eventually get perverted. It's a whole bunch of twisted fucks on this show, and the parade doesn't stop. But it's a good story well told, and if the moral is that anybody can/will do anything to anybody when they think they won't be held accountable (or can get around/away from it if they are), then I have to say that the moral of the story is one with which I reluctantly/sadly agree.
