erwbol Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 This week's Hannibal. The DVR cut the last five minutes or so as the Indians game seems to have run late. ARGH. I've adjusted the end time.On to Humans."Hello Dr. Lecter." "Hello Will."Bon appétit. Quote
Shawn Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 Supernatural - season 6. I had stopped watching this show a few years ago, but since it seems like it's going to remain on the air forever (season 11 starts in the fall) I figured I might as well see what's been happening. Quote

Cyril Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Today, 125 years ago, Vincent van Gogh died.... A unique tv documentary of the life and the works of Vincent van Gogh. For 60 minutes we are travelling with Vincent in a geographical reconstruction of his life. The documentary shows beautiful pictures of which Van Gogh has drawn his inspiration for his works. A lot of the buildings still exist. Trough modern digital techniques the current image changes into the painting that was made by Van Gogh for over 100 years ago. The documentary begins in the basement of a museum in Mons, where they keep the first professional work of Vincent and ends in Auvers sur Oisewhere Van Gogh has been buried... Quote

JSngry Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Pretty inconsequential until people like Gato & The Fort Apache Band came along. Then it got good and stayed good. Quote
kinuta Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 True Detective final episode an I still don't know what I've been watching. More to the point, I don't care. A spectacular kamikaze dive from the first series into a swamp of incomprehension. Quote
Shawn Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 House of Cards: To Play The King (BBC) - Ian Richardson is wondrous...and I'm convinced he should have played a vampire at some point in his career. Quote
xybert Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Fell down the rabbit hole watching Nardwuar videos on youtube. His schtick starts to wear thin, and i guess somewhat similar to Ali G/Borat there's the 'oh i know who this guy is now' effect where the interviewee's start to know what to expect, but he still get's some cool insights and there are some great candid moments. It's addictive because there are sooooo many videos and they're hit and miss but you finish one and you always see another artist that you want to check out. Quote
kinuta Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) House of Cards: To Play The King (BBC) - Ian Richardson is wondrous...and I'm convinced he should have played a vampire at some point in his career. He was a great actor. Odd that such an immense talent was mainly confined to tv.As good as the Kevin Spacey version was, the original was something special.Especially liked the way he addressed the camera head on, ala Alfie, to reveal his Machiavellian thinking.Have you ever seen him in ' Murder Rooms: Mysteries Of the Real Sherlock Holmes ' ?Worth seeking out if the answer is no.It's a stretch but the nearest he came to playing a vampire was the overlord alien in Dark City. Shawn Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 It's a stretch but the nearest he came to playing a vampire was the overlord alien in Dark City.Ah! Yes, I remember that now. He just had such a great menacing screen presence, he would have made a great horror movie villain. I also remember him from those old Grey Poupon commercials... Quote

kinuta Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 Major Crimes - season finale, underrated series IMHO.The programme was very skillfully finessed to get over the seemingly crippling loss of Brenda. It's very much a team show now, although I wish they'd get rid of the kid, I find him a pain. I think he was introduced to show off the softer, maternal side of Sharon. You recall she was a real badass villian and instrumental in Brenda's departure towards the end of The Closer.I agree, it's a well made series that is consistently good, except for Rusty. Send Rusty off to Africa ala E.R. and give his screen time to Julio. Quote
kinuta Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Murder In The FirstThe first season, with the emphasis only on the Eric Blunt case, was better but I'm still quite enjoying season two. Quote
