Soulstation1 Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 I thought I was the only person to never watch an episode of Friends Quote
Shawn Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 I thought I was the only person to never watch an episode of Friends You can add me to that list, I've seen a few clips here and there but purposely avoided seeing a full episode. I hated the male cast members so much I wouldn't watch that show if my life depended on it. Quote
kinuta Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 The Honourable Woman Excellent, almost prescient, the last two episodes have put things into much needed focus. I thought I was the only person to never watch an episode of Friends You can add me to that list, I've seen a few clips here and there but purposely avoided seeing a full episode. I hated the male cast members so much I wouldn't watch that show if my life depended on it. I'll second that. Quote
duaneiac Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 I would guess the way the fictional movers and shakers of Washington D.C. are depicted in this series is uncomfortably close to the self-serving, backstabbing, petty and vindictive behavior that our "leaders" exhibit today. Quote
Matthew Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 Friends: Season 3. It has, what I think is the quintessential Friends episode The One Where No One's Ready, which is one of my favorites. I never liked the Ross & Rachael combination, for me, they were just lame. I think that the Joey / Chandler team is one the funniest comedy combinations ever, they play off each other in a unique manner -- very underrated. Quote

I went on the Warner Bros. studio tour a few months ago, they have the entire coffee shop set from this series preserved. They take people in and let them snap photos while seated on the couch. Quote

kinuta Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 The Killing Season 4 I've watched the first and second episodes and although my expectations were low, I was pleasantly surprised at how gripping it was. Tight, straightforward and not a red herring in sight. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 Dang. I'll find a way to watch this in time (not doing Netflix, etc.) Watched the first three episodes of "Rush" (USA network). 'S alright. Quote

jazzbo Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Earlier this afternoon I re-watched the second season episode of Leverage that my uncle Jack is in, "The Top Hat Job." Hilarious! "Whoever you are out there you're fired!" always cracks me up. Quote
kinuta Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I've been rewatching the latter part of Person Of Interest season 2. The introduction of Ms Shaw and the reappearance of Ms Gross aka Root marks the start of the amazing story arc that leads into season three. Great tv that puts a lot of films to shame, count me as a major fan. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I'm a major fan too. Great cast and good tv writing. Looking forward to next season. They don't let it get stale! Quote
Shawn Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 I've been rewatching the latter part of Person Of Interest season 2. The introduction of Ms Shaw and the reappearance of Ms Gross aka Root marks the start of the amazing story arc that leads into season three. Great tv that puts a lot of films to shame, count me as a major fan. Season 1 was a major struggle for me, but I loved the finale once Ms. Acker made her appearance...same goes for the beginning of season 2, totally gripping...then once she's gone I lost interest again. Here's the thing, I don't really like any of the characters except for her, makes it very hard to get into when she's not part of the story. Quote
JohnJ Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 I'm a major fan too. Great cast and good tv writing. Looking forward to next season. They don't let it get stale! +1. POI is perhaps the most purely entertaining show currently on TV. Watching season 3 at the moment. Unlike Shawn, I like all the major characters a lot, indeed Ms. Acker may be my least favourite. Also watching Foyles War They are showing seasons 1-5 on AXN Mystery and I find it to be brilliant TV. A Lark Ascending Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) 'The Honourable Woman' finished last night. I still don't quite understand what happened but the whole series had me gripped. Completely flew in the face of the modern fashion for breathless drama with changing scenes every few seconds - lots of slow camera lingering, enigmatic statements and threads that don't start to make sense for a couple of episodes. And lots of questions left in your head. I do hope it got some decent ratings so the BBC will take a few more risks - we've quite enough cookery and fly-on-the-school-wall programmes as it is. Also programme 3/4 of: A more traditional detective thing but again moves at a leisurely pace. I like the characters, the scenery is stunning and the weather is worse than Worksop.
