BruceH Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Netflix finally has the second and third seasons of That Mitchell and Webb Look, so I've been enjoying Sir Digby Chicken Caesar and the gang... Ah, love them! Not quite A Bit of Fry & Laurie, but plenty of good moments. Quote
Dave James Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) I'm late to the party on both of these, but I'm almost to the end of the 3rd season of Mad Men and, at the same time, getting into Foyle's War. Not to beat a dead horse, but Mad Men is around the bend terrific and Foyle's War has the makings of something that could easily crack my all-time Top 5. Also, with respect to an earlier reference to Office Space, I believe it's pieces of flair. Edited February 18, 2011 by Dave James Quote

jazzbo Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Bored to Death, Season One, on Blu-Ray. Laughing my ass off. Just my style of stuff. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 'The Promise' - Episode 3. Excellent, thoughtful drama. The devices to get the main characters into places of tension are a bit of a stretch; but as a way of making some sense of the British/Israeli/Palestinian troubles in the '40s and today, works superbly. jazzbo Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) I like the character Belushi plays in this one too. His hard-nosed empathy and his deep concern for children tug at my heart strings. Edited February 26, 2011 by jazzbo Quote
Matthew Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Michigan State vs. Purdue, while listening to cds. Am I the only one who listens to music while watching sports with the sound off? Quote
EyeSpeech Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 No, I've been known to do that and I have a vinyl-head buddy whose whole existence is based on watching ESPN with the sound off while spinning records. Quote
kinuta Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Better late than never department, Breaking Bad, the first season. Wow, what a show. I liked the hydrofluoric acid in the bath tale, incredible. Quote
BruceH Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Better late than never department, Breaking Bad, the first season. Wow, what a show. Yes, isn't it though? I resisted it for a while, then gave in and became a rabid fan. Quote
kinuta Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Better late than never department, Breaking Bad, the first season. Wow, what a show. Yes, isn't it though? I resisted it for a while, then gave in and became a rabid fan. It's taken over my viewing to the exclusion of films. Finished S2 and ready to roll S3. Addicted big time. Quote

Chicago Expat Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 (edited) Michigan State vs. Purdue, while listening to cds. Am I the only one who listens to music while watching sports with the sound off? It's my routine to tear through a hundred pages of jazz new releases samples on emusic over the course of a night while watching sports on mute. I find it relaxing, though I can't really put my finger on why this is so. Me, I've been watching season two of Justified. New episode tonight. Edited March 2, 2011 by Chicago Expat Quote
kinuta Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) Marchlands ITV Mediocre. The few reviews I read applauded this but I was seriously underwhelmed. The manic cutting between the three time fields nearly drove me bonkers and the storyline was poorly developed. At least the delectable Shelley Conn provided some welcome eye candy. On a brighter note I'm now up to date on Breaking Bad which was excellent. :tup Edited March 6, 2011 by kinuta Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) 'The Killing' (Episode 13/14) continues to grip. Seems like the version relocated to America is already in the offing. Trailers seem carbon copies of the original, but presumably in real-life places like New York rather than the fantasy country of Denmark. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1637727/ Edited March 6, 2011 by A Lark Ascending Quote
