Jim Alfredson Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 Yep, I saw $4.99 as well. I heard that in Jackson it was upwards of $7. Somebody is going to get the gub'ment mad at them. Granholm already went after price gougers after 9/11. Quote
Shawn Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Haven't seen any price changes here, maybe by a few cents but it's still around the $3.54 range. Quote
GA Russell Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 The price here jumped today from $3.63 to $4.19. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 I filled up for $3.83 at midnight. Quote

Most be the Big Oil Bend-Ova fee that makes the difference. Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Didn't notice any lines or price jump here in PDX yesterday. I've taken the Stude off daily driver duties but had it out and put $20 in at 3.5? = 5.5xx gal, right? Paid 3.49 when I filled the Mazda last week (dif station), lowest in a losng time. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Jeez..it's 3.89 out here and was never any lower... Quote
Free For All Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 I noticed lots of long lines at gas stations today, people are anticipating price hikes and shortages due to Ike. I heard someone on the radio say this "panic" was mostly consumer-driven; prices may go up for awhile, but that there were no significant shortages anticipated. The big panic here last Friday was apparently due in part to a leaked email from a local government employee that said there was "sure to be a major shortage". By Friday night pretty much every place was sold out, and here it is Thursday and STILL most places that sell gas are STILL OUT. So yes, there does seem to be a shortage, but it was caused by local people panicking and hoarding, not because of any hurricane issues. It's totally bizarre. I had plenty of gas in the tank last Friday and thought it seemed unnecessary to wait in those looooong lines, but I also thought for sure things would be back to normal by now, almost a week later. This seemed to be a fairly local anomaly, not as much of an issue elsewhere in the state. There is some gas around, but people have had to search for it, sometimes driving way out of town. Amazing how little it takes to throw things into total chaos! Lemmings over the cliff. Quote
7/4 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 3.33 it's up about .15 since I filled up last time. Quote
7/4 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 $3.08 I wonder if it's going to go lower than 3! Quote
Joe G Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Man, this is an old thread. Check out the first page, both for the price of gas when we started the conversation, and for those who no longer post here. Quote
7/4 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 $2.20 here as well, give or take. Fortunately I don't have to drive far to get to work. Close enough to bike it in, actually. $2.20 would be nice! Quote
BERIGAN Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Well, the good part of the economy tanking is gas prices are dropping like a rock. $3.29 is what I saw Saturday(we had been around $4.09 during the gas shortages in the ATL a few weeks back) and I know it's under $3.00 in some parts of the country.... But, $2.20 sounds better to me as well! Quote
Peter Johnson Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Filled up at $3.09 in Jersey just after I emerged from the Holland Tunnel this morning, then saw $3.05 at the Sunoco three blocks later just before the turnpike. D'oh! Regardless, that's the lowest price I've seen in a while. Quote

sheldonm Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 ...got off the plane from LA a few hours ago and gas was $2.66 at a station adjacent to the airport in Indy. BTW...gas was $3.45 in LA this weekend. Quote
AndrewHill Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 There's a BP selling gas at $2.45 down the street from me and cars are lined up out on the street. Quote

Close enough to bike it in, actually. $2.20 would be nice! I'll be damned - it was $2.18 at the Admiral on the way into work. And yes, I was on my bike. Quote
AndrewHill Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Its been as low as $2.09 around here. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 $2.76 here. But I've been told that we're always high here. Kind of an isolated area with only one distributor. Monopoly is fun to play, not so fun to live... Quote
