Cali Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 If the drive does not recognise the disks, the drive will not recognise the disks. Sad, but simple like that. I assume your drive is clean and that it involves only these two disks. Try them on another drive. All my other cds work fine. Oh well, sucks for me. Quote
Claude Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 (edited) I have the same problem with 3 of the 9 (I believe) discs of the Dexter Gordon Complete Prestige box (German pressing, not CC'ed). The drive just doesn't read them. I even tried another copy of the set (yes working in a Jazz record store does help....) and the same problem was there too. So that's not a CC problem but a factory defect which "corrupts" the drive. PS just tried my US Mothership and it works fine on my iMac. It could indeed be a ZYX manufacturing defect. I had the same problem with some cheap OJC samplers manufactured by ZYX ("Organ", "Guitar", etc). My SACD player Sony SCD-XA777 could not read them. My other CD players could play them. I burned CD-R copies (only the CD burner could read the discs, not the DVD drive), which work on the Sony. Edited March 30, 2005 by Claude Quote
tjobbe Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 (edited) I can confirm Claude's experience with the ZYX own manufactured products.. I had at least two 20Bits that two of my Sony's (One XA50ES, one SCD670XE) were unable to read properly .... Cheers, Tjobbe Edited March 30, 2005 by tjobbe Quote
tonym Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 I'm not sure if I dreamt this, or read it here, but I believe the next batch of Euro RVGs won't have the CP. However, if they do, the quandry will persist; what with retail RVGs going for about £6-8 over here, do I just bite the bullet and get them anyway. Quote
tonym Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Sorry to re-has old threads, but last week I was enlightened as to how this is all possible. A certain programme which is as easy as pie to use was made known to me. I now have a dozen new sides on the iPod ready to groove to. Sorry if this seems redundant or old news to you (I know some of you are highly au fait with burning techniques) but this is just the tonic for me! Quote
