JSngry Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 (edited) So where have we been, anyway? Well, if I told you, I'd have to kill you, and since we got a gig coming up and want you to be there, let's just leave well enough alone, ok? Seriously, we've finally found a club that's willing to present real music for real people with no expectations other than that they get both in ample doses to make it worthwhile for all concerned, so we're humbly asking for your support. The Place: THE FALLOUT LOUNGE 835 EXPOSITION AVE DALLAS, TX 75226 (214) 823-0675 The Date: Wednesday, March 30 The Hours: 9-12 The cost: FREE!!!! Yes, this does have the potential to turn into an ongoing thing, so your presence (enthusiastic or otherwise) for one or both sets, will be deeply appreciated. From what I'm hearing, the place is perfect for our kind of music. Plus, the management has heard our CDs, and is very excited about having us play there. All it'll take for this thing to turn out well is your patronage. You need us, we need you, and we all need a break from the monotony of "reality". so let's get it on! Hope to see you there. Quartet Out - Pete Gallio, Jim Sangrey, Lyles West, & Dennis Durick Edited March 25, 2005 by JSngry Quote
ghost of miles Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 Fantastic news, Jim!! Hope some of our Texas-area members are able to catch you in action again. Quote
JSngry Posted March 25, 2005 Author Report Posted March 25, 2005 That would be sweel! And if the money starts working out, we're thinking about adding a shuttle service, national, international, and, eventually, intergallactic. Then all can share the magic. But we need your support to make it happen, so- DARE TO DREAM! DARE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE! DARE TO DRINK THE KOOL-AID! Well, that third one might not be so wise. But the first two are pretty solid notions, even today. Quote
rostasi Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 (edited) yup - ima gonna go>>>>>>>> maybe, if this becomes a regular gig, then we can all look forward to the new QO CD: "The Quartet live at the FallOut" Edited March 25, 2005 by rostasi Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 Is there a dance floor? Do you take requests? Do you know Tenderly - it's a favorite? Will you be performing behind chicken wire? Quote
JSngry Posted March 25, 2005 Author Report Posted March 25, 2005 Is there a dance floor? Do you take requests? Do you know Tenderly - it's a favorite? Will you be performing behind chicken wire? A) There's tables and a bar for sure. Close enough. B) Yes, we take them. Beyond that, no promises. C) Yes, we know it, and will play it for the proper consideration. But only if you sing! D) No need for that, especially if Gallio's in that "special" zone of his. Quote

Dave James Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 Jim, Congrats on the gig. Chuck's chicken wire comment made me wonder if boning up on Rawhide might not be a bad idea. Good luck to you guys. Up over and out. Quote
JSngry Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 Thanks. It's been a few years since we had a regular venue, so here's to hope! Otoh, we're all pretty tough characters, but boning rawhide is the kind of thing that can cause irreversible damage, and we're so NOT all about inflicting on others what we ourselves have had to endure.
