More new Verve jazz reissue downloads

I have got a few but no artwork or notes.

I wish they world make the covers and note available too.

They really should do that.

It's a big part of the whole package.

I especially like the Verve Vault logo done up nice with the words "Out of Print" underneath. (As if to be proud of that.) How much did they spend on that graphic design? They have the analog source and digital WAV masterings and you and I get cheesy MP3. No thanks.

I posted my opinion of the crummy job they did with the George Russell - they fucked up the separation between tunes. For $10, that's a scam.

I know I could probably mess around with iTunes for 2-3 hours and fix it, but I just don't have time.

Teach me to be honest. I should have just burned a copy off a friend. I guess I got hoodwinked by the 'don't steal music' sticker on my iPod when I bought it.

I wonder, do they remaster anything, just for making it available as a download? For example, has Paul Desmond's "Summertime" (originally A&M) been released on CD anywhere?

I have the LP, would by a CD, will not download!

If the albums have never been released on CD, Universal/iTunes has to dig out the tapes from the vaults and transfer them to digital, just as for a CD release. That's why it is surprising the music is only offered for download, because many jazz fans would not only prefer a CD release but will not even know the music is available online.

The only commercial downloads of music never reissued on CD I had seen before were the Xanadu albums on emusic.com. But those were taken from LPs and the sound quality wasn't good.

I can't understand why Universal never released this one on CD and probably will never do! It is my favorite McCoy Tyner impulse! release.

"Today and Tomorrow" was reissued on CD at the the time that was still done under the GRP imprint. Don't you think it will be issued once again eventually?

Universal can have their heads up their ass sometimes. They finally released the Tijuana Brass individual recordings, after some stupid argument with Herb and Universal. I think they went to court.
