BeBop Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Ah, sleep! The Creator's curse on mankind. I despise sleep. I wish I had no need for it. Yet, sleep I must. And more as I grow older. I was once a working musician. Which makes the following all the more remarkable: I am up no later than 3:00AM each day. My first daily workout begins no more than 10 minutes later and lasts at least 120 minutes (at 75-95% HMR). How's that for up and at 'em? I'm usually in bed around 10:00PM - 10:30PM. Obviously, my travel schedule throws this off a bit, though I am blessedly immune to the effects of "jet lag". Quote
chris olivarez Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 I'm another one who would never sleep if I didn't have to.I've been a night person ever since I was a kid and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Quote
Bright Moments Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 i can't get to sleep i think about the implications of diving in too deep and possibly the complications especially at night i worry over situations that i know will be all right it's just overkill --colin hay :rsly: Quote

sheldonm Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Unfortunately, I've been a nite owl all my life. ....and when did you become a moose??? Quote
Upright Bill Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 I've been told that my sleep schedule is strange. Sunday through Thursday nights I go to bed between 12 and 1 AM. Friday and Saturday nights I go to bed between 3 and 4 AM. I wake up every day by 7 AM and I never set an alarm. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 I usually hit the sack at 12:30 or 1:00 and get up at 6:30 to 7:00. I get real sleepy on my long drives back from work. In general, I could use more sleep, but I've got too many hobbies! Quote
Peter Johnson Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Good night, everyone--time to hit the sack. I've got to rest up...got a strenuous day of work tomorrow culminating in a 2:00 p.m. tee time. Gotta run! Quote
Tjazz Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 No matter what time I log-in to this board, SOMEBODY is posting/reading, whatever. Like JSngry wrote, in another post, this (Organissimo) is a great after-hours hangout. As Jimmy Buffet would say "It's 5 O'clock somewhere." Quote

Shakespeare Taking Bill's advice, I generally go to bed around 1AM and get up around 5:30AM. Who knows what could be happening while I was sleeping?? Edited January 8, 2005 by patricia Quote

Brad Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Time for bed I guess although I'll be up another hour for sure. It IS the weekend. Quote
7/4 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 (edited) My schedule is all over the map and it's not getting any better. When I work at home, I get up earlier and earlier and I find myself napping in the early evening and not waking until 3. Then I'm wide awake, like now. At least I can get some off hours maintnance done on a server in NYC. Then comes a day where I have to work in NYC (not very far away) and I get in at 8pm or 1 am and it screws with my whole day/night problem, because I got up at 5 am. Ko.yaa.nis.qatsi (from the Hopi language), n. 1. Crazy life. 2. Life in turmoil. 3. Life disintegrating. 4. Life out of balance. 5. A state of life that calls for another way of living. I think I'll play some unplugged guitar guitar and then maybe I can get some sleep and get on track. Edited June 11, 2005 by 7/4 Quote
Harold_Z Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 During the week I try to be in bed at 11:00 PM and I'm up around 5:30 AM. On weekends I'm lucky if I sleep an extra two hours - even if I've done a gig the night before. I've gotten acclimated to rising early. BTW,My hours are a complete turn around from when I was a full time musician. I now get up most mornings earlier than I used to go to bed ! Quote
Claude Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 Yesterday evening I fell asleep while telephoning with my girlfriend It´s been a very busy week for me, with a lot of traveling and meetings, so I was quite exhausted on Friday evening when I arrived late from the airport. I SMSed my girlfriend (who currently lives abroad) to ask her to talk over Skype (free internet telephony), put on the PC headset and lay down on the sofa. Usually she does most of the talking on the phone, and we spoke for about half an hour. Next thing I see was me waking up on the sofa at 4AM with the headset still on, and a SMS on my mobile saying "Good night darling. You must have fallen asleep. I know you are fine, because I can hear you snoring" Quote
neveronfriday Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 THAT has happened to me too frequently lately. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 My sleep habits are atrocious. I probably average six hours of sleep. It's almost impossible to get any more. My cats start jumping on me at 6:30 to 7:00 every morning. I don't need an alarm clock. Quote

kinuta Posted June 11, 2005 Report Posted June 11, 2005 (edited) I don't sleep enough. I usually go to bed before twelve but have to read a thriller for half an hour or so. I wake up at 5.30-6.00, a little later in winter and am always up by 7.00. Edited June 11, 2005 by kinuta Quote
