Hope it's a great day!

If I could afford it I'd send you a ticket for you and your mom to visit the Tower!

Thanks for the thought anyway! :tup Oh, are you saying that there is a Tower records in the tower? Gosh, I imagine the French would love their national treasure turned into a cd store! ^_^

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone! We caught worst virus we have had in years, a week or so ago, and it put my Mom in the Hospital with pneumonia!

She was being her usual stubborn self, saying it was just the flu, and she had an appointment Monday to see the doctor. (Amazing how a 64 year old woman with Cancer, diabetes, Heart problems, etc can keep her husband and son from calling for help) Well, Sunday she finally relented, and we called 911. Just in time, as she quickly went downhill in the E.R. Mom was really having trouble breathing, it still took them 6 hours to put her in a hospital room!

She did get antibotics, and diuretics fairly quickly (her legs and right arm are quite swollen from the other health problems) Once in the room, they moved her from the ER Bed, to the hospital bed, which really made her out of breath, then 5 minutes later they wanted to get the old E.R. sheets out from under her, and look at a small bed sore. Well, that really made her breath labored, to say the least (I think getting on her left side where the Pneumonia is, did it) she grabbed my hand hard, and later said she thought she was going to die. No more moving her we said! I stayed til 6 am (Dad, who is 73 had lost his voice as well), then told my Dad to come watch over her. She was helpless as a baby the first 24 hours, her right arm is next to useless because of the lymph node damage from radiation, and the left had the I.V. in it. They finally used the port to her heart (for Chemo) and that freed up her left arm, so with her lungs getting a little better, were able to leave her alone for awhile.

This hospital doesn't mind if you stay the night, but no foldout chair...should have asked if they had a bed they could have rolled in...

Dad and I went to the doctor yesterday, and we both have broncitis, and the doc said my transisent Asthma was acting up as well.

Both of Mom's sisters have died, and her 53 year old niece died last year, so just me and Dad to take care of her.

So, for the first time I can remember, no birthday card, no gifts, no cake....But I got the best gift I could get, my Mom is still around! :)

What does Austin and Tower Records have to do with my birthday wish?

I know you would enjoy France and the French! (Even if you think you wouldn't and your fearless leaders tell you not to!)

Ok. This is weird. Mom called early this morning, sounding pretty good. But the sputum(Sp?) sample she gave Sunday came back, and she is contagious! Now the nurses are wearing masks when they come in. Of course, the 89 year old woman that Mom got as a roommate last night is still in there! Now I am wondering since it seems Dad and I have the same thing, just not as serious, are we contagious as well? When we saw the Doctor Monday (PA actually) no blood was taken. Supposedly, they will tell us more at the hospital later today.

Berigan,

Happy Birthday and I hope all turns out well for you and yours. Various aliens and two-headed cats wish you well, also and thank you for posting their stories.
