Jazzmoose Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Alissa Clancy the morning DJ on KCSM played a set of Ornette stuff this morning; it was nice to hear, although my work rate slowed down noticably... Quote

I don't think I'll be able to catch the beginning of the fest this year but I'll sure be listening to it on the 9th! Happy solar return to Ornette Coleman and many more. Quote
md655321 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 One of my first jazz records was Shape of Jazz to Come. When I first got it I simply coudnt understand why is considered so revolutionary. It sounded the same as Miles' Relaxin or Trane's Giant Steps. Needless to say, after 6 or so months of jazz listening I went back to it and my ears were ready. And Immediately my world was fucked up, and it was GREAT. Happy B-Day Ornette! And many more! Quote
