has anyone used a professional service to convert lp's to cd? doing an internet search, there seems to be a number of companies doing this. basically, send in your lp's,they clean up the sound, put it on a cd,and send it back to you. for someone (me) who does not have the inclination, patience, or equipment to do the job,or does not want to keep bothering a friend to do it, this would be a viable alternative.

Removing clicks and pops while keeping the music intact is not something that is done in a whiff. I just spent several days on fifteen minutes of music (7" 45pm, bad Polish pressing), that takes more perseverance than experience. If your vinyl is clean, then there shouldn't be a problem though. How much do they ask?

about LP to CD - I did this for a living for about 10 years - it's pretty easy, but I have a CEDAR - for $25 I do a single transfer throught he de-noiser, using audiophile turntable and pre-amp and amp - this removes about 90 percent of the noise. I don't do it much anymore because everybody's got their own stuff - but I have yet to hear an inexpensive commercial de-crackler program that does half as good a job as CEDAR -

I'm sure you'll be treated with dignity and respect.
