Guest ariceffron Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 ANYONE?? ANY INTERESTING THOUGHTS ON THIS ARTIST BY U GUYS? Quote
Chrome Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Somehow, I never pictured you as a Kate Bush fan ... my wife loves her stuff, but Kate's a little too ... I don't know ... "ethereal"? for me. Quote
take5 Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 Kate's music is a mixed bag. Hounds of Love is a perfectly representative album of hers, since it contains both startlingly powerful songs and unpenetrable tracks that get lost and never go anywhere. My favorite album of hers is The Sensual World, where her skills are focused and tight. I also have a preference for Never Forever. The Dreaming is freakin' weird. Quote
JSngry Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 She shore is purty. I like purty girls what make freeky music. Gets me to THANKIN' things! Quote
LAL Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Her first album, Kick Inside, works best for me mainly for the haunting melodies on certain songs and some lovely ballads sung in a more 'normal' voice. The songs Moving and Strange Phenomena sent chills down my spine when I first heard them. This one's probably not as sophisticated in terms of lyrics or emotional depth compared with Hounds, and there are some fillers, but deserves at least a listen or two. I listened to this album at least 5 times in a row when I first got it. Her third album, Never For Ever is right up there too, some might say even better. Quote
LAL Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 After a looonng time, a new album is to be released. Read elsewhere, some songs took > 5 years to complete. Kate Bush returns after 12 years Kate Bush's most recent album was The Red Shoes in 1993 Singer Kate Bush will release her first album in 12 years in November - a double album entitled Aerial. It will follow a single, King of the Mountain, released on 24 October, with both the single and album produced by Bush herself. The 47-year-old performer's last album, The Red Shoes, reached number two in the UK album chart in 1993. Her last public appearance was in 2001, when she received Q magazine's "classic songwriter" award in London. 'Outstanding contribution' A year later she was named the recipient of the Ivor Novello outstanding contribution to British music prize. Bush became famous in 1978 with her debut hit Wuthering Heights, which topped the UK chart for four weeks, followed by acclaimed debut album The Kick Inside. She went on to have a string of hit albums and singles including Babooshka, Running Up That Hill and Don't Give Up, a duet with Peter Gabriel. The next phase of Bush's recording career was the focus of much speculation, while artists including Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Goldfrapp cited her as an influence. Bush's new album will be released in the UK on 7 November and in the US one day later. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/4204166.stm Quote
