It's the cake of pies.

Or vice-versa.

Again, vote your conscience!

You are posing some very difficult, and in my present state, painful questions B-)

The children of the revolution will accept nothing but pies :P

I'll go for pie, but only if ice cream is available. Otherwise, cake. With regard to varieties, on the pie side, I'd opt for Strawberry Rhubard with vanilla soft ice cream. On the cake side, devil's food with that gooey butter cream frosting and maybe some chocolate sprinkles. My Lordy me...does that sound good.

Up over and out.

Am I the only one giggling at this thread because I keep thinking of the *other* meaning for "piece of pie"? <then 7/4 has to throw in "sushi"....>

I think most men on this board would prefer the pie. ^_^

Cake. As in "Let them eat..."

I know to what it actually referred, but, being a poll about Pie vs Cake, historical accuracy was allowed to take the back seat to an easy joke.

It's The American Way! :g

Are we letting politics intrude on this question? ;)

Well, to quote Malcolm out of context, that's "as American as cherry pie" !

Lester Young would've voted for "Pound Cake".

Always the contrarian, he was...

Pound Cake?

A tune off a bad Van Halen album? I'm confused.

"Pound Cake" was Lester Young's personal euphimism for, uh...."sushi".

Isn't the expression "as American as APPLE pie" anyway? I think the cherry gets thrown in there because of the apocryphal story of the young George Washington chopping down a cherry tree.

Ok in that case I now don't like 'Apple pie' ;)
