Ron S
So, hmmm. I've got an Ibanez, a Stromberg, and a flight case that I can sell.... I went through that twice last year...I came home and started calculating how much equipment to sell to buy a new guitar - and then didn't do it! BTW I did get that guitar. It's fuckin' sweet. Did you straighten up the tuners? :
Joe G
Yes - I told them to straighten up and tune right!
BFrank
Anyone get in on the GC 15% Black Friday deal today? Not that great of a bargain, but I went ahead and got the Boss Rc-20XL looper. The discount paid for the AC adaptor and another cable. JoeG has a fancier model that absolutely sings. Also interested to see how the "Plekpro" setup on the frets works. Guess they have some computerized machine that dresses and levels the frets... Will certainly report back in.
7/4
Give a guitar the Plek treatment sounds magical although I've never played one. It's supposed to be the most amazing set up. dB

It's supposed to be the most amazing set up. dB I am thinking about sending one of my strats in for service. I spoke with Abe a while back and he was quite excited about this machine. As first I was skeptical, but watching that youtube video has intrigued me further, for sure.

Shawn
Is there a way to find out what year a specific Gibson was produced by the serial number?
wulfman
Try the Gibson Site for starters. It seems to be pretty detailed. While I am in the guitar corner I might as well add a picture of the Japanese Epiphone 61' SG I got last week in Tokyo at a New Year's sale which is the Japanese version of Boxing Day specials. It has a lacquer finish and the Gibson-style headstock with original style tuning pegs. The guitar is super light but with the mahogany body has great sustain.
