I remember reading those G&L pickups on it are wound a little bit hotter than the normal ones. If it's not too far from you, I'd check it out. I heard those mahogany bodies sound really good with the G&L pickups. Damn! Now you've given me G.A.S. and there's no way for me to do anything about it. Quote

Bummer... What I like about them is that they're like the ASAT Jr., but they have the regular G&L stop tailpiece. I prefer that to the ASAT Jr.'s stop bar and tune-o-matic. Quote

scottb Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 (edited) We ought to keep track of how much gear this thread sells. There's already two guitars bought and I bet Joe caves on this Epiphone Alleykat. If this board does for my guitar buying what it did for my CD buying I'll be in BIG trouble. I jump on the Turnpike and bam! I'm in Central Jersey about 30 from the Holland Tunnel. Quote

If this board does for my guitar buying what it did for my CD buying I'll be in BIG trouble. I just stopped into Elderly Instruments to see what Epiphones they had, and sure enough, there were two Alleycats, including the sunburst model - for $499 - SUCKERS! I took it into the amp room and checked it over (The lone metalhead left a minute after I started to play). Not a bad guitar at all. The neck is fatter than my Ibanez, but it still felt pretty good. It's definitely worth what MF is asking. Haven't decided if I'm going to go for it though. Quote
