Alon Marcus Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Whistle While You Work =========================== Music: Frank Churchill; Lyrics: Larry Morey; featured in Disney's "Snow White". Just whistle while you work (whistle) Put on that grin and start right in to whistle loud and long Just hum a merry tune (hum) Just do your best and take a rest and sing your self a song When there's too much to do Don't let it bother you, forget your troubles, Try to be just like a cheerful chick-a-dee And whistle while you work (whistle) Come on get smart, tune up and start to whistle while you work (Official Version) Just whistle while you work (whistle) And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place So hum a merry tune (hum) It won't take long when there's a song to help you set the place And as you sweep the room Imagine that the broom is someone that you love And soon you'll find you're dancing to the tune (Spoken): Oh, no, no, no, no! Put them in the tub) When hearts are high the time will fly So whistle while you work Link Quote

I think everyone in UK is humming this tune just now because of that DVD. Me, I've been stuck on Bills Bounce for the past week. I've just discovered I've been playing with the most atrocious timing and I'm desperately trying to correct myself before I play it with anyone else again. Quote

It's a funny thing but I liked Tony Christie as as youngster( both my parents like him),and so I already knew the song. I had also decided that this was going to be the 'Tour Song' for the Under-15 Rugby side that I coach. I did not watch Comic relief, and so was annoyed that Peter Kay had stolen my show Che. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 "Is this the way to Amarillo?" as a rugby tour song? What happened to "Four and Twenty Virgins came down from Inverness"? More evidence of the dumbing down of contemporary culture! Quote

More evidence of the dumbing down of contemporary culture! As the club's child protection officer I have to be very careful what the tour song will be Each time I say the lads have to sing the song, failing to do so will result in a fine and a court appearance. Who says rugby is not a cultured game Che. Quote
