Laid up with a cold, I watched The Odd Couple followed by The Third Man yesterday. A strange combination, but fun. I hadn't seen The Odd Couple in quite a few years and really enjoyed it.

i've never seen a bette davis film

You might want to check out a flick called All About Eve----it's a keeper, and it has one of the milestone performances of Davis's career.

When Bette Davis died in France in 1989, a friend of my brother's, who worked in the U.S. embassy in Paris was involved in making arrangements for the body to be sent back to the U.S. During his work he got to see her passport and noticed that she had scotch taped a 1940s photo of herself over the much less flattering contemporary passport picture.

Hope they didn't give her a hard time about it (when she was alive, I mean.)

They recently showed The Honeymoon Killers in the "Underground" series. I never thought I'd see that film on TV!
