Jim Alfredson Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Oh Lord, there's a "Man-O-War" album in there. Those dudes are frickin' weird. I saw a snippet of one of their videos on VH1 (some show about bad metal) and it provided laughter for days! What was up with those guys?! Quote
Ron S Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I think I just had a couple of heart attacks and a stroke laughing at those pages. Quote
catesta Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I remember some of these. Two of the guys on this cover could have doubled for "meathead" on All in The Family. Quote
Soul Stream Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I actually remember the Millie Jackson LP. I lived in Dallas at the time and she was/is a DJ there. Always dug that cover. Quote
scottb Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Posted March 1, 2005 I think I've seen some worse album covers around the internet but I have never read a funnier commentary about them! That guy is hilarious. Quote
Brad Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 That commentary is LOL dudes, especially with those guys wanting to touch you. No f'in way. Quote
JSngry Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I actually remember the Millie Jackson LP. I lived in Dallas at the time and she was/is a DJ there. Millie broadcasts from Georgia, I think it is (might even be from her house!) , but her show is heard only in Dallas, on Soul 73, KKDA-AM, 730 on your dial. Anybody who's in the area and digs old-school Soul music is advised to tune in to this station and enjoy the ride. Some people might lauch at her album covers, but back in the day, she was a great singer! Quote

KKDA always has the coolest soul singer djs....Johnnie Taylor anyone? Quote
Jazzdog Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I'm suprised he didn't include Atomic Rooster's Nice and Greasy... http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000025Q...SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg Quote
chris olivarez Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Those album covers are uh interesting. For the country/gospel ones in the future the guy should review at least one Cristy Lane album not only were her covers as lame as anything that guy had on his site the music was just as bad if not worse. maren Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 (edited) Trivia: that Jim Post guy (number 1 one on the second list), was half of "Friend&Lover" who wrote and sang "Reach Out in the Darkness" ("I think it's so groovy now, that people are finally gettin' together...") Did anyone else follow the links to read about Jim Post's grandson announcing to the whole family at Thanksgiving dinner that Gramps had won #1 worst alburm cover?! And Gramps's response?! scottb Posted March 2, 2005 Author Report Posted March 2, 2005 (edited) I hope that's not supposed to be one! A good one, that is. Looks like someone's castrated testicles are headed for testicle heaven! Edited March 2, 2005 by scottb Quote
Jeffro Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 (edited) Well, the Cannonball/Evans "Know What I Mean" album has got to be up there in the worst/most bizarre category. Edited March 2, 2005 by Jeffro Quote

Some people might lauch at her album covers, but back in the day, she was a great singer! 'Hurts So Good', one of my favourite soul songs What a voice, but terrible covers. Wasn't there one where she was sat on the toilet? Never attractive (to me). Those reviews were hilarious. My wife thinks I've just wet myself Quote
tonym Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Oh my good God. It's on that second list I didn't dream it!!! Quote

tonym Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Hey Mark; that one in the lower right with the woman gazing fondly downward...does that title really say "Organ Fascination"???? Well, could be perfectly innocent; B3-er could be stood in front of her saying "Hey baby, check this one out" Quote
