I've got a "NEW YORK USA" version of Lee Morgan's "Cornbread" and I'm not seeing an "ear" on that one, either. Interestingly enough, the cover has "Liberty Records, Inc Printed in U.S.A." on the front. It also has "MONAURAL" in big letters on the lower back.

The Larry Young album has no mention of Liberty anywhere, and has "HIGH FIDELITY" on the upper left corner of the back.

I had about 125 BN original LP's, but have traded almost all off them, but I still

have 3 left: BLP 1562 "The Stylings Of Silver", BLP 1565 "Cliff Jordan", BLP 4007

"Off To The Races", all in mono and the BN address: 47 West 63rd Street, New York 23. What are they worth today ?, they are all original pressings. Should I sell them ?, I have all three on CD.

I would say certainly in the $200 to $350 mark, depending on condition. The 'Cliff Jordan' probably more. I recently got hold of an original of that particular Silver title and love the sound of that one. Hang on to them !

BFrank - Your description of the 'Cornbread' matches mine, except that my copy is a stereo.

I have a Donald Byrd 'Mustang' though which is in mono and also matches your description. Very early Liberty-era pressings, quite rare.

The only other old BN I have is Wayne Shorter's "Super Nova" and it's definitely Liberty.

It's a "BST" cat #, the cover says "Blue Note Records Entertainment from Transamerica Corporation", and the label says "Blue Note Records - A Division of Liberty Records, Inc."

at the moment you really can get high prices for those blue note lps.

if the condition is about near mint you will easily get 130 US$ for each record !

so if you sell them you would be about 400 $ more rich

i am collecting some blue note lps and would be interesting in the donald byrd lp "off the races" - in case you don't want it anymore ....
