It is 8 different stories with 'The Second Renaissance' divided into 2 parts. It is both an extension and background to 'The Matrix'. 'The Second Renaissance' is a pre-Matrix while 'Beyond' takes you to the outside limits of the computer program. 'The Final Flight Of The Osiris' is a pre-Matrix Reloaded.
