I'd be real interested in these ones if you're still offering? Jimmy Smith - Cool Blues Donald Byrd - Slow Drag ** I'll pony up a couple of Verve discs: Archie Shepp & Roswell Rudd 'Live in New York' Wayne Shorter 'Alegria' (going to tjobbe) Who'd like them? EDIT: I also have Ralph Towner's 'Solstice' (ECM) w/Garbarek, Weber & Christensen to toss into the freebie pile. This one has some scuffs but plays perfect. Brad Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 I've got a semi box set, it's Proper's The Engine Room, four cd set of jazz drumming up through the bop period. The catch is that there is no volume 1. When I got it they included an extra modern drumming cd, instead of New Orleans and Chicago Styles. The other 3 cds are good though. Includes the slip case and booklet. Pm me if interested. Quote

PHILLYQ Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Brad's generosity has me feeling the love! I'm offering (with first dibs to Brad and my Pimp Conn ) Bobby Hutcherson - DIALOGUE (defective version of RVG but really not that bad. Better than no DIALOGE) Blue Mitchell - BOSS HORN (Spanish version to hold you until summer RVGs come out) Righteous Buddha - GET RIGHT or BLACK BLUE AND BAMBOO (B3, upright bass and drums doing a "MMW from New Orleans" type thing. GET RIGHT has some Headhunter-like synth work which is pretty cool in a retro way. But BLACK... is probably the better more adventurous- odd meters, interesting song structures etc) Andew Hill - GRASS ROOTS (Conn) picked it up recently from a boardmember but turned out not to need it. Ready, set..... post! SCOTTB, Please send me the Righteous Buddha- I'll PM you with my address. Thank you. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Just checking, I didn't kill another thread here, did I? Quote
scottb Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Philly Q, You didn't indicate which one you wanted so you get... BOTH! I still can't believe nobody wants a free BOSS HORN! Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Heck, I do!! I can't believe that no one wants my Shepp/Rudd 'NY' ....thought that would be the first of 3 discs to bolt the room. Quote
