Soul Stream Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 Don't worry Jim, there's no crossing the line here! (Plus, my wife's been out of town, so I don't think I got the gig that way. ) Wish I had a CD to lay on you guys, but I don't. Never much had the bread to do it, and the public hasn't really been demanding it! Quote
RDK Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Congrats on the gig, Mike. And I bet your wife's relieved... I just hope you didn't have to do anything for the club owner either! Quote

WD45 Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 You can consider me a small but demanding public for that CD. Quote
Soul Stream Posted February 24, 2005 Author Report Posted February 24, 2005 Thanks WD, now that I have one copy pre-sold I might have to start thinking about it!. P.S...I'm down here in Austin... Quote
scottb Posted February 24, 2005 Report Posted February 24, 2005 Surely you know someone who can record off the soundboard at a couple gigs. Pick out a few inspired preformances and make some CDRs. We buy them up. You sell a few at gigs. You take the money, get yourself some studio time. Badda bing badda boom you got yourself a CD. Now you got something to bring in a little extra dough at gigs, toss around to the big wigs of the music industry and give as Christmas presents to the family. OK? So let's have it. I'll set the release date for the live CD for April 5. Advance orders taken now. Cash, check, money order, paypal all accepted. That should put you in the studio late 2005 / early 2006 (send me your schedule and I'll nail down the date) Release of the studio album summer 2006. OK, lets get started. Send some Photos from live performances to AfricaBrass and let him start work on the artwork for the CD cover. AB, I want a presentation of some rough ideas on my desk by March 8th so get busy! (By the way, the fee for my career planning services are very reasonable. We can work out the numbers later. But for now, we have a record to make!) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Don't forget that I operate the coolest (and cheapest!) little organ recording studio this side of Englewood Cliffs. I wouldn't even charge ya nuthin', and I got a nice fully serviced 1954 Hammond C2 with a 21H for you to play! A beautiful Yamaha beech custom drumset is here, too. Quote
scottb Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Ok, so instead of studio time, we're talkin plane tickets. That bumps up the release date to Fall / Winter 2005! Quote
Soul Stream Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 But you forgot, my guitar player just left to go on tour with Bob Dylan! Damn, another setback. We actually just played our last gig this evening since he's leaving. And it was the best turnout ever (guess word travels fast) Quote
scottb Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 (edited) Quote I wouldn't even charge ya nuthin' I got my eye on you B3er! My client's not going to be tricked with the old double negative! Don't make get all Ben Wallace on you! Edited February 25, 2005 by scottb Quote

You're GOLD baby, GOLD!! No guitarist means one less plane ticket and the sooner you make the trip! Edited February 25, 2005 by scottb Quote
scottb Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 (edited) By the way, how convincing am I in this role? This feels really good to me. Barking orders and making things happen. Power baby! Give me POWER! I'm just kidding of course. If this was FOR REAL I'd make a few late night visits accompanied by a certain "friend" and the next thing you know you'd have an album on Nessa Records, recorded in Alfredson Studios by Jim Anderson with special guest appearances by Jim Sangry, Free For All, Rooster Ties and any other sucker musicians we can track down! CAUSE THAT'S HOW I ROLL! Edited February 25, 2005 by scottb Quote
Peter Johnson Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 All together now... "Record-It. Record-It. Record-It. Record-It." Come on, Mike--[subtle application of peer pressure]--everybody's recording CD's! Quote
Soul Stream Posted February 25, 2005 Author Report Posted February 25, 2005 I like ScottB's management style. I think that really works in the business! Now if we can just start calling this a project and have Dr. John and Bonnie Raitt guest on it, we might have something. Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Have Joe guest on the record! He's right here in town, which will save on money for flights! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 In that case, I'll buy two!!! Quote
