RDK Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 I can't think of many. Here's this one with Pat and Charlie, any others. Beyond The Missouri Sky (Short Stories) Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden There are many guitar-bass duet albums, but the Metheny-Haden is my absolute favorite. An essential album imo. Quote
Alon Marcus Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Definitely this one, and I think there's another with these two, right? I like "Chops". Don't think that Joe Pass and NHOP recorded many times before or after as a duo though they played together many times as sidemen for others. Joe has a live duo album with REd Mitchell: Finally: Live in Stockholm Jim Hall has a few albums in the duo format. With Ron Carter: Alone Together - This one is my personal favorite. Telephone and many duets with different bass players on that one: Jim Hall & Basses Quote
John Tapscott Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Two good ones on the Sackville label from Canada Reg Schwager and Don Thompson - Live at Mezetta's (I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE). Ed Bickert and Don Thompson Quote

Jim R Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 (edited) Also, I think Ray Brown did an album of duets with guitarists. Or not...
