JSngry Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 in a restaurant how should one get the attention of the person who brings the food? 'oh, waitperson!" sounds ridiculous, and 'server!' conjures an image of a central computer. i suppose that's why they often introduce themselves, using their first names, which strikes me as overly familiar. anyway, i'm cool with dude or man. 'babe' might work if there were a lou reed smilie with audio (doo duh-doo duh-doo ....). "I'm Paul, and I'll be your server." "Hi, Paul, I'm Jim, and I'll be your customer." Uh, no thanks... We'll have to make it up as we go along, I suppose. Which, like jazz, is a good way to look at it, no? And now, I imagine that Rooster would like his thread back. Again, welcome! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted March 5, 2005 Author Report Posted March 5, 2005 And now, I imagine that Rooster would like his thread back. Not a problem. I wasn't using it much anyway!! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted March 13, 2005 Author Report Posted March 13, 2005 (edited) RED ALERT!!!! I've about got a 2nd BFT disc put together (to include as part of my BFT#25) -- ever since I discovered a sort of common theme to most of the rejected tracks I couldn't/didn't include on disc #1. I should have the 2nd disc put together by this time tomorrow. B-) So, I guess look for a 2-disc BFT from me, plus two bonus discs (a two-hour unreleased concert that is "to-die-for" amazing). Also, when should I open up a "sign up" thread?? Or maybe I'll just re-title this one (any reason not to??). Edited March 13, 2005 by Rooster_Ties Quote
mikeweil Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 I'd rather start a new sign-up thread - you've told us so often this is not the sign-up thread that it might be confusing. You could-re-title, but when some members start reading the thread ... A new thread would enable you to have the participants list on the first page etc. with doing so much re-editing etc. Just a recommendation, of course. I will link to anything you set up. Remember the Easter holidays are later this month - some might be on vacation. Starting the discussion early in April might be fine. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 (edited) OK, other than fixing levels, and maybe a tiny edit or two here and there -- I'm pretty much done picking out music for my 2nd BFT disc. I'll start a brand new thread for sign-ups sometime early in the week. I've already got a number of people on the list (from the "paying it forward" thread, people I owe "free" discs too), so I'll post their names in the new "sign-up" thread, as soon as I start it. If anyone else wants to help distribute this puppy, go head and let me know here in this thread -- and BIG thanks to those who have already agreed to help with distributing. (Remember, there's gonna be a total of FOUR discs for each mailing, between my two BFT discs, and the two-disc unreleased live concert.) This is gonna be fun. MartyJazz Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 So when's the sign-up? The feedback on the two BFT 24 discs is more or less complete at this point. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted March 22, 2005 Author Report Posted March 22, 2005 I'll start a sign-up thread later tonight. Been a long week, didn't get to it like I intended. Cheers!!! -- Rooster T. Quote
sidewinder Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Looking forward to participating in this one - not least to check out also that Woody Shaw 2CD combo Quote
