mikeweil Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 I just picked up a vinyl copy of this little gem: recorded: March 10, 1965 live in Dresden issued: 1965 (or 67 ?) AMIGA 855056 (Ex-East-Germany) LEO WRIGHT (fl, as); "DR. BLUES" CANDY GREEN (p, voc, hca); ANDRÉ CONDOUANT (g); WOLFGANG KRAESSE (b ); HARTWIG BARTZ (dr) Howdya like the drummer on this one? Hartwig Bartz is one of the legends of German jazz drumming, one of the few, along with Joe Nay and Klaus Weiss, to have some "American" feeling. Quote
couw Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 I haven't gone that far into it yet. I understand the drummer is someone you listen for first. I don't, and I think you will understand that as well... The liners also mention him as a "big guy:" Die westdeutschen Rhythmiker Wolfgang Kraesse und Hartwig Bartz sorgen in erster Linie für einen soliden Grund-Beat. (complete liners on this site, in German) Do you know this record? Quote

Aggie87 Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 up for air.... Not jazz, but I was in my local Half-Price bookstore this afternoon, after running some errands. I stumbled onto a $1.00 CD-Single from one of my favorite rock groups, Porcupine Tree. The single is called "Stars Die", and is hard to come by. Most recent copy on ebay went for $71! Quote
