porcy62 Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) I noted nobody mentioned Harnoncourt recording of 1965, I have it on the mammouth Bach Edition, any thoughts? I have the Starker vinyl reissue of Speaker Corner too. I love both though in a different way. Edited February 14, 2020 by porcy62 Quote
bebopbob Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Any thoughts or opinions on new recording by Alisa Weilerstein ? With several interpretations in my collection, Casals. Starker, Rostropovich and Ma, is Weilerstein worth acquiring ? Anything unusual or insightful with her interpretations? Stay safe and keep healthy. Bob Quote

Stay safe and keep healthy. Bob I've seen Weilerstein perform three times in person, and she is as compelling as anybody performing today. She plays with a quiet yet seething intensity, if that makes any sense. I confidently suggest exploring all of her output, period. and if/when she comes to any venue within anything remotely resembling a reachable distance, just buy tickets and go. Quote
